I am not sure if this is More Metaphysical Engineering, Stochastic Music, or Both, but here goes .

Musicians know this. Certain instruments come with a story to tell. The Machines involved in their manufacture also impart some of this story. So that is a New Revelation in that we can quantify and at least Identify the source using principles of Heisenberg regarding the Quantum nature of this allegedly unknown part of the Universe we all know intuitively, because it is the consciousness of God Himself that we borrow.

September Song

Oh, it’s a long, long while from May to December,
But the days grow short when you reach September.
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
And you haven’t got time for the waiting game.

When the days dwindle down to a precious few,
September, November.
And these few golden days I’ll share with you,
These golden days I’ll share with you.

When you meet with the young girls early in the Spring,
You court them in song and in rhyme.
They answer with words and a clover ring,
But if you could examine the goods they bring,
They have little to offer but the songs they sing
And the plentiful waste of time of day,
A plentiful waste of time.

Oh, it’s a long, long while from May to December,
But the days grow short when you reach September.
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame,
One hasn’t got time for the waiting game.

Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few,
September, November,
And these few precious days I’ll spend with you,
These precious days I’ll spend with you.

I like this because, as Alphie-Omegie says, instruments (of any kind) have a story to tell!

Hiya Stochastic Noise Fans......

The Doc's recent roll call made me stop and think about where have all the flowers gone? NTET, Absy, Sunny, Firefoxy, Leeeeoooo, A add sign O, Causey, and many others to numerous to mention. Thus, I believe that it is time to return to the past/present/future which is now a minute ago and a minute from now this minute. For me, the scene was the Key Theatre in Georgetown, Washington, DC, Saturday night, midnight............

Hello all!
Paulio, I am thinking how wonderful it would be if I could post the lines in context and actually spoken....sort of stochastic music extreme. As we literary historians surmise, the Globe Theatre must have been an absolute circus of sight, sound and music. I think that quite a few acts of many plays were sung. I also think that there was great audience participation. And, if I may be so bold, the cleverness of today which I label as just plain snarkiness can never match the words of the Bard; Master of the turn of words and the clever phrase! We just don't care to understand the language that WE spoke back then.

Peace,
Marty and LuckyLee

(News for those who have misconceptions about cats......blind cats adjust using sound and smell........not at all....they are very dependent on sight!)
(More news about cats.......those cutsey pictures of cheetahs loving does and tigers loving ibexs and lions loving wee little bebe zebras....NOPE.....cats are natural born killers.)

But I still love them, because they are beautiful and majestic........

Thank you, Marty. As I couldn't stand the racket, I have done the next best thing and here are the lyrics of the song:

Oh, one of these nights at about twelve o'clock
this whole earth's gonna reel and rock...
things thay'll tremble and cry for pain
for the Lord's gonna come in his heavenly airplane.

If God had a name, what would it be
And would you call it to His face
If you were faced with Him in all His glory
What would you ask if you had just one question

Yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make His way home

If God had a face, what would it look like
And would you want to see
If seeing meant that you would have to believe
In things like Heaven and in Jesus and the Saints
And all the Prophets and...

Yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make His way home

Tryin' to make His way home
Back up to Heaven all alone
Nobody callin' on the phone
'Cept for the Pope maybe in Rome

Yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make His way home

Just tryin' to make his way home
Like a holy rolling stone
Back up to Heaven all alone
Just tryin' to make his way home
Nobody callin' on the phone
'Cept for the Pope maybe in Rome

Well, that's one way of looking at it.

With love - Aquarius

There's no point in arguing over taste, is there?

I dislike anything that's too noisy. My nerves cannot stand it.

Hello Aqwah.....I love the noise but my true love is ambient (we used to call it space) music which is usually lyricless....and if I want singing, I am an opera fan....but I think you all ready know that. Remember Bryn?

Anyway, I am very curious about the lyrics you found. No version that I have heard uses the first stanza that you posted. I sort of figured out your source and I notice that the first stanza is bracketed. I wonder why?

I am always very curious about these things as I maintain (and rightly so) that the Internet is one of the largest sources of misinformation that we have. Wikipedia has no editorial standard but us.....and I am not a good editor. Google is a monolithic spying apparatus.....the Europeans have woken up to some of the egregious things that Google does..... go Euros!!!

If I could afford it, I would get the complete Oxford Dictionary of the English Language.....at least the Brits maintain the high standards required to be considered authoritative. Go Brits!!!

Americans? Fuhgedaboudit......we can't even spel big woids.......

Piece,

Marty and LuckyLee, my kat

Hello Marty,

Oh yes, I do remember Bryn. I have quite a few CDs of him, but have to admit that I haven't listened to them for a while. Thanks for reminding me! I must dig them up.

Re: If God were one of us. There's no great science involved about how I found the text I gave you. I just googled 'If God were one of us' and up came quite a few websites offering the lyrics. I chose this one because looked promising somehow: http://www.lyricsondemand.com/onehitwonders/ifgodwasoneofuslyrics.h...

Re: The Oxford Dictionary. My best friend, the writer of Madazine, is the greatest expert of the English language I have ever come across. He hasn't much time for the Oxford for various reasons, which he recently explained to me. Alas, I can't recall what they were. I may come back to you later and tell you what they were. I might send him a quick e-mail to find out.

Meanwhile, all the best.

With love - Aquarius

P.S. Re long words.

Do you mean something like Oberdonaudampfschiffahrtsgesellschaft? Have you got any equivalents to it?

With love - Aquarius

P.P.S. Sorry, Marty, I slipped up. The word by rights should read: Oberdonaudampfschiffahrtsgesellschaftskapitaen.

I had almost forgotten. It's a long time since I've been having fun with this kind of thing, as you may imagine.

Note to Ophiucus.

I hope you will be able to forgive me for slipping in one single foreign word.

It means Captain of the Upper Danube Steamboat Shipping Company.

Glad you liked it Aqua

Cat Stephens was/is I feel one of our most spiritual of songwriters, then he embraced Islam and went quiet but has since returned

He was once so generous as to donate some money to set up one of his former musicians who had fallen on hard times, who had come my way, in response to a simple request of mine.

I think he is wonderful in so many ways.

Hello Pauly and Aqualine,
You can't go wrong with a singer named Cat!

BTW, he wrote (and sometimes performed) the song "Here Comes My Baby", up high on the charts as performed by the Tremeloes, a rock and roll tune if ever I heard one.

Onto more serious things................Fairfax County, Virginia has dispatched its 60 person disaster rescue team to Nepal. I hope they save as many as they can. A special prayer of mine goes to the climbers trapped on Everest. That's where Beck Weathers died and came back to life a day later. I hope there is a lot of that happening.

The Day The Music Died

The Day the Music Died, an expression coined by Don McLean in his song ‘American Pie’, is a reference to the deaths of rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. ‘The Big Bopper’ Richardson in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa, on February 3, 1959. Pilot Roger Peterson was also killed.

After terminating his partnership with The Crickets, Holly assembled a new band consisting of Waylon Jennings, Tommy Allsup, and Carl Bunch to play on the ‘Winter Dance Party’ tour across the Midwest. Rising artists Valens and Richardson joined the tour as well.

The distance between venues and the conditions aboard the poorly-equipped tour buses adversely affected the performers, with cases of flu and even frostbite. After stopping at Clear Lake to perform and frustrated by such conditions, Holly decided to charter a plane to reach their next venue in Moorhead, Minnesota. Richardson, who was affected by the flu, swapped places with Jennings, taking the latter’s place on the plane, while Allsup lost his seat to Valens on a coin toss.

Soon after take-off, late at night and in wintry weather conditions with poor vision, the pilot lost control of the airplane, a small Beechcraft Bonanza, which subsequently crashed into a cornfield, leaving no survivors.

To find out more about it, please follow the link below:

I Will Survive!
At first, I was afraid, I was petrified.
Kept thinking, I could never live without you by my side.
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong,
And I grew strong and I learned how to get along.

And so you’re back from outer space.
I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face.
I should have changed that stupid lock.
I should have made you leave your key.
If I’d known for just one second you’d be back to bother me.

Go on now, go, walk out the door, just turn around now,
‘Cause you’re not welcome anymore.
Weren’t you the one, who tried to hurt me with goodbye?
Did you think I’d crumble? Did you think I’d lay down and die?

Oh, no, not I, I will survive.
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I’ll stay alive.
I’ve got all my life to live, I’ve got all my love to give.
And I’ll survive, I will survive, hey, hey.

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart.
Kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart.
And I spent, oh, so many nights just feeling sorry for myself.
I used to cry but now I hold my head up high.

And you see me, somebody new.
I’m not that chained up little person still in love with you.
And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free.
But now I’m saving all my loving for someone who’s loving me.

Go on now, go, walk out the door, just turn around now,
‘Cause you’re not welcome anymore.
Weren’t you the one, who tried to break me with goodbye?
Did you think I’d crumble? Did you think I’d lay down and die?

Oh, no, not I, I will survive.
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I’ll stay alive.
I’ve got all my life to live, I’ve got all my love to give.
And I’ll survive, I will survive, oh.
