I will never have another dog like him.... he ruled the dead end here. Loved to lay in the middle of the road too. LOL He used to chase after bikes, but never bit or attacked anyone. He just stopped and came back into our yard. I never needed to put him on a leash. My current pups have been trained with our invisible fence now... Good thing, Mixi is special needs. She does bite if she thinks any of us are in danger. So, i always watch her. Once she trusts someone, they could basically do anything and she would only lick em lots. She is already 8. Oh my.... i really cannot stand the thought of having to lose more family. Many people are against Euthanizing.... Well, i am for it far over watching them suffer. I wish it was legal to help humans cross before they suffer immensely. There is no need to suffer. Hard topic really.... Enjoy the spirits~

You will be sad, I understand, But don’t let grief hold back your hand, For on this day, more than all the rest, Our love and friendship will be put to the test. We’ve had many happy years together And what is to come can hold no fears. Do you want me to suffer? No! That’s why when my time has come, please let me go. Take me where to my needs people can attend And if possible, stay with me to the end. Hold me firm and speak to me, Until my earthly eyes no longer see. I know in time that you will see What a great kindness you have done for me, That although my tail its last had waved, From too much pain and suffering I was saved – By you! Do not grieve that it had to be you Who had this act of kindness for me to do. We’ve been very close for all these years, So don’t allow your heart to be filled with tears. In that place I shall forever be yours. Anon. Edited by Aquarius From ‘Mourning For Beloved Animal Friends’ With love – Aquarius * * *

Alumni Posts: 533 ![]() ![]() | It really is a hard topic, Jill. I agree with you- I don't want the pets to suffer. I also wish the same was available for people. Compassionate end of life care without suffering really should be our own choice...

Death is inevitable anyway. Why would anyone WANT someone to just continue to live in a vegetative state, or stuck in horrid pain. If it is the person's wish not to put other people out and stop the lengthy process... just end it. I am talking with no chance of recovery... it should be legal with proof that it was the wishes of the person (several witnesses). We can end suffering of animals, but not ourselves. It's illogical to me... Most people can understand most of this, it's only the real religious ones who really stick to some code of hell, fear.... that dang fear again. LOL

Alumni Posts: 533 ![]() ![]() | I get what you're saying, Jill. I agree with you. However, I think some people have a hard time thinking they are the ones "pulling the plug" so to speak. They don't want the "guilt" they will feel from it, and others are just not wanting their loved one to die. So out of their own sadness they put themselves first instead of the will or comfort of their loved one- whether it's a human or an animal. It's a tough decision, I'll admit. Some just can't deal with stuff...
