| Hello all,
The way I see it, basically we have certain inclinations, and then certain environments pulls us toward certain targets. But what should we choose to pursue when virtually anything is possible? If one pursues high-culture (like humanoira and other excellence), there never seems to be an end to amazement, but like a bottomless hole it never gets satisfied either. If one pursues only the basics, life is a constant certainty of uncertainty, one never knows what one misses out on, how it would be like to be in other circumstances and one is constantly under threat from being disrupted in the weak position one has given oneself.
What is worth pursuing? And no, happiness is not an answer, as that's an internal product and not a target in itself

Location: NE Ohio | The pursuit of each life will always be different for everyone.... but enjoying each moment the best you can is all one can expect. Each of us have a duty, to just be.... our consciousness is and always will be eternal. So whether you choose to play the hero to someone or the villain to someone else.... to experience the all... is the answer.
It's up to you to create your all. I hope that made sense. |

I agree somewhat with you there Jillee, though I think too that we have some responsibility whilst here to seek out then adhere to, or follow, the higher rules of the universe, as otherwise we could run riot and cause untold distress ... as indeed the (in)human race has... and ultimately the falling apart of everything (as we might be witnessing)
Along each of our respective soul journeys and many lifetimes, I agree we may be called upon to be heroes, heroines, villains, villainesses, saints, sinners, and who knows what else - if we follow our soul's calling (leastways that is what Christine and Advaita seem to teach) - but that will be a by-product of our intention to seek the central and essential truth of Being ('seek ye first the will of God', 'transcend the wheel of becoming', etc
