Leaving aside just now many debates about whether or not he was the greatest writer of all time (what about 'undiscovered Miltons', to cite Gray), nor the eurocentric, patriarchal connotations either, or whether he actually wrote the stuff (to which has to be replied, well somebody did) So to the matter, last night BBC television devoted an evening to celebration of this event; and here is a You Tube extract that I hope might be of interest ... for many reasons ('if reasons were as plentiful as blackberries, I wouldst not give thee a reason upon compulsion' - Falstaff, Henry IV [part 1 I think ... but reasons has to be pronounced in the Warwickshire dialect as 'raisins' to make the joke ...] Anyways up ... how many ways can one interpret the simple phrase from Hamlet: "To be or not to be, that is the question" ? ... well here are some atttempts ...[ hope you can pick this up overseas] ps, for anyone not familiar with Hamlet, in the play at the point of the soliloquoy the audience are led to believe him to be contemplating suicide, death, murder ... or all three Night night Paul https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEs8rK5Cqt8 Edited by Paul Joseph 4/24/2016 3:15 PM

Nice such a quick reply ... ['quick and dead' is from Shakespeare I think .. meaning, alive] this one would be good too, if you could get it, though not as funny as the above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61z2fPAOr8g Edited by Paul Joseph 4/24/2016 3:21 PM

And, when he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of Heaven so fine That all the world will be in love with night And pay no worship to the garish Sun. Translation into German. In my view even more beautiful than the original: Komm, milde, liebevolle Nacht! Komm, gib mir meinen Romeo! Und stirbt er einst, Nimm ihn, zerteil in kleine Sterne ihn. Er wird des Himmels Antlitz so verschönen, Dass alle Welt sich in die Nacht verliebt Und niemand mehr der eitlen Sonne huldigt. Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare * * * My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep. The more I give to thee, The more I have, For both are infinite. While I have never been a fan of Shakespeare, only because i was always into Electronics, Ghost hunting and Seances while everyone else learned and did normal stuff. So i am behind on that portion of knowledge. I am sure there is a very large amount of time period i have missed out on. I do hope it is very enjoyable~ Many Blessings~

I will see if I can another link ... The etymology of poetry is interesting, the word 'poem' comes from, 'to make' ... so it is about creation No sorry, I nearly found a link on Vanity Fair.com, but it said BBC Worldwide has the copyright and has blocked it ... basically, it consisted of several very well know actors trying to upstage each other, each appearing one by one and trying (in jest) to outdo the previous one, until they are all on stage together, by claiming that each had a better place for the emphasis in the one line of: To be or not to be, that is the question It revealed how option to interpretation is a phrase of just 10 words ... very cleverly done, if it ever comes your way ... Night night PJ Edited by Paul Joseph 4/27/2016 1:52 PM
