| Paul, I really like the first part, posted on the website, too.
It's almost the same as what's found on page 5 in the link to the catalog, which is really one of the main reasons I signed up for the courses all those years ago. " It is not associated with Christianity."

I love seeing these, as they too are the reason I stick around, lurking, but around. My existence is due to the help of these ethical studies.

Location: NE Ohio | I attended UMS because of these very things. I had attended and paid for a different Metaphysics school and taken all the courses, which were not bad at all and close to here, but nothing as detailed and no sources, although i didn't have sources either, but i know where idea's come from.... had i read that stuff first. I read the stuff AFTER.... so, I channeled my info of perhaps what i was going to read later? Very interesting and mind boggling. Anyway, i ended up not finishing the LAST chapter of the last metaphysics school, because they wanted me to be a certain religion.... WHAT? NO WAY!
UMS does not do that... they let you choose your religion FREEDOM! It's a lot of work. It's a lot of learning, self evaluating, deprogramming and so much love. and worth more than what the investment made towards the self.
Priceless!
Nef... I'll take some of that burden... I'll be the Alpha! You can be the Omega.... ok? DEAL? ha ha ha |

| Jill, it's possible I know the "other" school you are mentioning. I found one similar before I signed up here. At the "other" place, you have to dig around a lot to see they want you to be one specific religion. I looked at it again yesterday- it's very hard to recognize. It seems as though that school wants to be both, a school about Christianity, but still say it's "okay" to practice metaphysics. I respect them for trying to blend the two- as so many need "deprogramming" as you mentioned, or also some sort of reconciliation between what they already believe and what they are now learning to be true. But, that wasn't the school for me.
For me, I was lucky in the way that I had no preconceived religion to program out of my system, nothing to reconcile, so UMS resonated with the beliefs I already held and have had for most of my life. There was no requirement to believe in Christ or Christ Consciousness or any other religion, here. But it's still okay for those that have those beliefs. The best of both worlds, I think 
I think it's a little shady not to know ahead of time you are signing up to pay for courses in a school with a specific religion and not find out until the very end that that's what's happening. Gosh.

Location: United Kingdom | Sorry I missed Jillee's earlier post .. but agree with you both ... as I might have said before, for me it is about the way UMS integrated (or tries to!) heart, head and body, and synthesize a diversity of spiritual experiences into a therapeutic healing framework too ... from a different scene, as a traditional University based academic I was offered places on traditional academic doctorates, but chose UMS because of its (our?) unique combinations ... my formal Uni does not recognise my degree, but that does not bother me too much, as I realize the depth of what UMS has given me ...

Disa, while i know what school you are talking about, cause i too dig to research what is out there. ... but this school had made up their own religion. ...hence bottom line. .. another RELIGION! i ran
Found here. ... glad i did.
I still have every single one of the other schools courses and they aren't bad, just not as good and end result. ... do this!
Jillee doesn't like to be told what she has to do. ... not at this age. Lolol
Anyway. ... I've met some of my best friends here and i still say to this day i would love to give each and every one of ya a hug in person. ..i hope that isn't creepy. ... hahaha
