Well, now that I know of this new intellectual peer species, anacrhonistically named  Borrelia Burgdorferi, how long have they been here? I suspect they predate mammals. Humans are a convenience to them due to our ability to function with opposable thumbs, much as I found Deer are a fun ride for them as well.
