This is not a UMS question per se; but affiliated. I am new here. I've lurked off & on since about 2 years ago. I finally decided to join the group on "ning" as this one isn't to active. I signed up there last evening but have yet to be approved. I did notice that ning isn't real active either. Maybe I just need to be a little more patient. Anyway, if anyone know how long it takes to be approved on the ning site or is affiliated in any way with moderating that site; I would appreciate it if you could look into it for me.
I have studied Metaphysics on my own for a good number of years and have always studied alone. I live in the rural north central part of the US; people tend to be pretty conservative up here so I've not had much interaction with like minded people (not good for the mental health).
If anyone can help I'd be obliged.

Blessings,
Seva

Hello and welcome Seva

Makes a great change to say hello and welcome to some new posters here who are not trying to put up spam or ads ... I seem to spend most of my time hereabouts nowadays taking those down. Maybe it's a Karma thing ...

Mending broken hearts reminds me of that old great McGarrigal sisters song, 'some say a heart is just like a wheel, when its bended, can't be mended ..'

so, way to go there ...

and not sure either about Ning;

I guess from your residence you might not be familiar with the British Goon Shows of the 1950s/60s (Marty might be): they had a song, not quite Ning, but Ning always reminds me of it, the Ying Tong Niddle I Po song ... let me check, goodness it is on You Tube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nebe1zuEtbc

possibly humour too British to travel; but to understand it might help to know that the Goon show was born out of the zaniness of those who had fought in and survived World War 2, then tried to engender humour in bleak post-war Britain, and yet not all of them had cultural backgrounds that were British (Spike Milligan had Indian/Irish antecedents, Michael Bentine from Peru, Harry Secombe Wales, and Peter Sellers, Muswell Hill [ a very British joke]

Might amuse you anyway whilst you await Ning, and whilst I await the next spam onslaught ..

Namaste

On the Ning Nang Nong

Where the Cows go Bong!

And the monkeys all say BOO!

There's a Nong Nang Ning

Where the trees go Ping!

And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.

On the Nong Ning Nang

All the mice go Clang

And you just can't catch 'em when they do!

So its Ning Nang Nong

Cows go Bong!

Nong Nang Ning

Trees go ping

Nong Ning Nang

The mice go Clang

What a noisy place to belong

Is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!

:- well folks although my subliminal assocations hit a mark, my citation was off. I felt I had this wrong so did some more research, and interestingly found that the Ning comes from a poem from Spike Milligan, the British huomourist who co-wrote the Goon Shows ...

Seva,

Welcome to the boards. I did not see your post until today and I'm not sure why? Anyway... I wonder if you got your issue approved with Ning. Both sites are only as active as we make them. If you have questions or things to contribute, do not be shy. Start a thread and I'm sure people will engage.
