Expert Posts: 2118 ![]() ![]() Location: The Heart of Space | Couldn't Go Far Back Enough to Find the Old RIP: Today, kids have only ridicule for the Beav, Wally, and parents Ward and June. Afterall, the parents are not divorced, don't have extramarital lovers, and the kids don't drink, engage in sex, or smoke dope. What a bunch of dumbasses!!!! Aren't we lucky to live in a society that is so remarkably advanced from these Neanderthals???? A society that treasures their children sooooo much that they demonstrate against Barney the purple Dinosaur, because he just wants to love people. How ridiculous is the idea that you love people! Whassup wid dat! Why doesn't he teach these kids to lie, cheat, steal and hate......like we should! Barbara Billingsley, aka June Cleaver, died at a ripe old age. She was a very talented woman, who even spoke the language known as Jive (Airplane, the original movie). She was America's nobel idea of "Mom". She was a welcome respite from real Mom and living in a federal housing project with liquor bottles, needles and the smell of urine in the stairwells. Ms. Billingsley, in her own way, has obtained that quality known as immortality. And she had it long before her transition from the now to the future. Expert Posts: 2118 ![]() ![]() Location: The Heart of Space | I must also report that the Polish composer Henryk Gorecki has gone on to the concert hall of eternity. His most memorable composition, that which he will be remembered as immortal, is Symphony No. 3, aka "The Symphony of Sorrowful Songs". I first heard this performed when I was younger, and I remember that some old Jewish ladies were crying and I started to cry too. To this very day, as soon as the first build up of music ends and the soprano sings, I weep deep and bitter tears.....such is the power of the music. Should you care to be deeply moved, I recommend a listen....the best version was the original sung by Stephania Witowicz; and I don't believe that there are any good recordings. The, thus far, definitive version is sung by the British soprano, Dawn Upshaw, who recorded it with the London Sinfonietta. Henryk, I hope you have met the young girl in the Gestapo prison and that you are both now happy!!!! Peace and Stanzas, Marty, Luck, Popp, Siss

Expert Posts: 2118 ![]() ![]() Location: The Heart of Space | Gone to HiCal........distinct from SoCal, NoCal and all the other Cals......this one is skyward to the cumulo-nimbus territory.....the leader of the Magic Band....Captain Beefheart! Don Van Vliet has gone beyond. Y'know he was a gifted musician, but he got a bad case of the heebeejeebees, prompted by his guitarist Ry Cooder (who I never liked) and this prevented the band from playing the Monterey Pop Festival...the very same one that a young girl from Texas sang her her heart out and an unusual American guitarist with his Brit band electrified the crowd and probably changed the way I looked at music forever. The Texas girl was Janis Joplin; the "Experience" was Jimi Hendrix. So long Captain.....your getting closer to your home! Peace and Feedback, Marty, Lucky, Poppy, Sissy

I hope she knows how much I thought she was a most attractive lady.

Expert Posts: 2118 ![]() ![]() Location: The Heart of Space | A particularly sad passing.................CHRISTINA GREEN, 9 years old, born on September 11th, 2001 (I was born on September 10th). She was shot near a Safeway Supermarket in Tucson, Arizona. Her mother had brought her to see one of our members of Congress, who was also shot, and is now in serious condition, upgraded from critical. She was civic minded, and her mother brought her to see democracy in action. The entire nation saw something occur. I hope that we know what to make of it, and gain the wisdom to deal with what happened. Peace Needs a Chance, Marty, Lucky, Poppy, Sissy

PhD Alumni Posts: 584 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Nigeria | ...and so shall it be RIP..on and, on up till your turn Sir Mary and all of us here present. To me, the irony lies not in what we desire or pray onto our loved ones in the limbo but what they themselves had lived and died for. If they had done so in Truth they are in peace, with or without our prayer. The big question is if they hadn't and we keep immortalizing who, given the opportunity, will come down to correct their ways. That's my fear Marty. Let it not be assumed that I am against prayer and good wish for the reposed. I do wish and pray, but also feel we, the 'living-dead' should make peace with ourselves right now, while we can, rather that wait for others to wish us some. RIP! Blessings!

Expert Posts: 2118 ![]() ![]() Location: The Heart of Space | Ah my dear Danny: My turn came at least three distinct times, and now is a matter of when do sudden irregular rhythms or throbbing vessels or traffic jams of hemoglobin cause a bittersweet climax......IF that is the fate in store. But I have not had my pie or my pudding yet, and I have not completed even one single UMS course.....I am determined to stick around at least long enough to do all of the above and more. As I like to think of you as my poetic friend in a faraway place so familiar to me, I would rue the day that I could not corporeally converse with you, even if it is via the ether. Even so, when that day comes, I shall strive to be in your dreams at least once, just to say hello and all is well, and hope that you will recount such in your posts. PhD Alumni Posts: 584 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Nigeria | "Thoughts have Wings," our dearest Mat. I think this powerful posting or caption had once graced the threads here on UMS Forum. By the caption and not necessarily the doodling in the in the post, I personally understand the nothingness of distance in thought context. We are, willy-nilly tied together. I am you and you are me. I am in every conversation and everything you make with your assumed nearest, so I think you are with me Marty and the rest of us that culminated in the making of 'The Whole.' Rest In Peace old man/old lady. We had our pie and our peace! Blessings!

In the heydey, he defeated all comers in various venues, including reigning champions in order to have the ultimate showdown with Jake. The drama goes down in history as high EastEnder......but never to be equaled by the classic battles between anyone and Ric Flair......the greatest wrestler ever....,ahhhhhh....my allegiance is espoused! I do feel the RIP when I know someone has had a life of pain or terror XOXO

Expert Posts: 2118 ![]() ![]() Location: The Heart of Space | IT LOOKS LIKE THE CATS HAVE DIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Deceased this past week, Lillian Jackson Braun, the prolific author of the "The Cat Who........" series with KoKo and YumYum (two Siamese kittys) as major characters. My favorite thing out of all the books was squonk water from the Ittybiddywassy River...if you drink it every day you will live to be 100 years old. Ms. Braun died at the tender age of 97. Readers could never place the scene of the stories, PickAxe, 400 miles north of nowhere, but we later learned it was based on her home town in northern Michigan. And, in that part of the country, people do tend to live very long times........WOOOOOOO...OOOOOOHHHHH...OOOOOOOOO There is more to life than we think! DEATH IS TO BIG A CHEW TO SWALLOW AT ONE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, Marty, Luck, Popp, Siss Luv You Lill 4Ever

Alumni Posts: 862 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Danny, I do not know if the RIP is permanent or temporary, I just need to focus on the life I have to live, and to do the best I can with it. You may well be right, but life is a progression of us learning to handle emotions and separate ours from the greater whole that we are to become. I do agree we are in a vale of tears until we awaken and stop taking things personally, as we just exist and life is trying to teach us, but we just keep taking things personally, as if life is an attack that undermines our efforts. Expert Posts: 2118 ![]() ![]() Location: The Heart of Space | Hidyhoo Foxioo and mourning friends, The reason why I post in RIP is to bring to peoples attention those that have transcended this world, but shall live on in spirit in many worlds. I am reading Wilkie Collin's "The Haunted Hotel" and he is as alive today as he was when he chummed around with Charlie Dickens in an England that I cannot see, but know very intimately; thanks to both the mentioned gentlepersons. I was curious that you state that emotions are to be "handled", for I must say the opposite......(or maybe I didn't understand you)....my view, as is most of the world, is that emotions are FELT....our responses are what is as you say "handled". Lastly, some things in this world are meant personally, and they can be many, varied, and from any source. They can be good, bad, indifferent or any shade of color you wish to make them. But, they are aimed at an individual, quite specifically. When it bothers me I toughen up or cry; and I have done both many times in my life. I don't see anything wrong with being human....for that is what we are! Peace Comin' AtCha,

Expert Posts: 2118 ![]() ![]() Location: The Heart of Space | Yes, I agree with you Foxybaby.....my point was that we all feel emotion. The worst case scenario, the psychopath, feels no emotion, at least towards the victim. However, the psychopath has a deep rooted emotional response to what s/he is doing, and it is usually sexual in nature. It is the most primal: rejection by the mother. ALL MAMMALS HAVE MOTHERS. In some species, rejection means death. In our species, our everyday lives, those who are rejected by their moms emotionally "die". It is our job to resurrect them. An historian's perspective on a very "right now" event.....the Anthony woman is on trial for killing her kid, check the body language, check the emotional outbursts/non emotional outbursts, and look at her eyes. She killed her child!!!! Nooooo question.....except why?????????????? OJ Shrimpson killed his wife and her boyfriend......how do I know? What would you do if someone killed your wife (if you have one) or your loved one. You would most likely go out an play golf just like OJ. JonBenet Ramsey gets killed in her own house, in the basement, and the killer leaves a note and exits the house because a sick dude decided he would go to the Ramsey house on the spur of the moment and then be able to break in and go up to the right bedroom and take her downstairs and keep her quiet and then kill her and write a note for which he has got to find paper and pen or pencil and then get out off the house because his sole mission was to kill a little girl and escape undetected from a rich persons house......with no sexual intention....... Weeeeeelllllll Foxerino, that didn't happen. A Ramsey killed a Ramsey and they know it and I know it. For, you see Fox, there just ain't no other explanation.Peace and Paws,Martino, Luckyleeo, Poppyheado, Sissygirlo Edited by mruppert 6/29/2011 10:34 PM
