mruppert - 8/13/2011 11:19 PM No one important, famous, notorious......no scamp, scallywag, or rascal.........not even a human.....just the sweetest little cat I ever had or will ever have....Sissygirl has gone on today, August 12th.

Sissy, I cry a river over you!

Love,
Marty, Lucky, Poppy

'Blessed are those who weep, for they shall be comforted.' Extra big healing hugs, dear Marty. Deep down aren't you glad that Sissy has safely made her transformation onto the higher level of life? The twelfths of August was a good day for doing so. She's merely gone before you. Dear sweet Sissy, rest in peace.

With love - Aquarius

Belated condolences from me too, dear Marty friend - Aqua is right of course, but how sorry for those of us who are left.

But also, you might appreciate this, in RIP mode, today read in the newspaper that a new literary find suggests that Butch Cassidy was not killed in Bolivia, but lived on, to a ripe old age ..

ach well, nobody dies, really, ....

and now the Board, quite a few new friends to whom to say hello - welcome all, and who knows where we go ?

... and who knows where the time goes?

I have had this summer a dear friend of a blackbird, who sang from 4 am until sunset (21:00) most days since April, since we had the earliest of summers. Each year of our 28 in this house we have had a blackbird pair, but this year, I saw no sign of his enticing a mate. Then yesterday morning, he and I came eye to eye in the garden. He did not flee away, but looked very old and tired. He just sat and looked my way. I kind of felt, it was a special moment, and today, he was not there. I suspect he has joined Sissy, and all others of those great ones who have gone before us, and whose way here, we merely pave ....

Blessings, and Wayfarers All

Thanks so much Disa ... I looked for him all day today and no sign of his rustling in the leaves, nor tonight as the sun disappeared in its last twinkling in the west.... and yet so many berries on all the trees, and none to eat them!

Did you listen to Sandy Denny? She too had such a short and sad life ... Fotheringay was one of her final and wonderful albums

The mouse knows more than all of us........Flowers for Algernon....by Daniel Keyes (btw born in Brooklyn, NY and went to Brooklyn College). He, I believe, is still alive..however:

Cliff Robertson, Actor Who Won Oscar for ‘Charly,’ Dies at 88

Cliff Robertson, the ruggedly handsome actor who won an Oscar for “Charly” and was consistently praised by critics but never quite reached the top echelon of movie stardom, has died at 88.

Mr. Robertson’s long movie career began with “Picnic” in 1955 and continued through “Spider-Man” and its first two sequels in the 21st century. He was also a familiar face in television dramas from the earliest days of the medium.

Charly is a must see, Claire Bloom is the doctor and Algernon is the mouse.

Encore Cliff,
Marty, Lucky and Poppy

So farewell dear Dermot Leo Curran, one of the oldest and longest standing Highgate Pond swimmers, 93 years old when this You Tube was made, passed away today or so. He will be sorely missed:

Once he told me of one of his most memorable swims, in the Canadian Rockies.

The last of a breed ....
