Hi,

I look forward to studying with the UMS, but I was wondering how the Degrees are recognized here in the UK? I would like to acquire a Doctorate Degree. I understand that this is a 'Religious' Degree, and not a Secular Degree. However, would it be legal to include the Degrees in my CV, along with my other qualifications? As much as this is really for personal growth, it would still be nice to be able to list these Degrees on my CV, even if the area of the qualifications is irrelevant to the job I may be applying for. My CV is like a trophy case, and it would be nice to showcase the qualifcations I am proud to have!

Any extra insight on how these Degrees are recognized in the UK would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Luke.

Something of a shame Luke, but in my experience they are not really recognised here.

I did the programme for many complex reasons as I have expounded upon before; I have no regrets, on the contrary. But 'recognition' externally is not something I have found.

Hello and welcome, by the way.

Here in the States, there seems to be more recognition from state to state. Mostly in metaphysical fields. I am taking the courses for personal growth and for writing in the metaphysical field. As you know, one must have letters behind ones name in order to be reconnized as being knowledgable. Such as mine BSBA, BA, BD I like to call it alphabet soup. Eventually I will add M.D., DD. and perhaps PhD. Then when I finish my book people will think I know what I'm talking about. As my spirit mentor states, "It's like waving a white flag, it makes you bullit prof."
It seems that the UK is far less reasonable when it comes to recognizing metaphysical degrees.

The UK are intrigued, in my experience, but it 'counts' at a different dimension.

Check out the Spiritual Workers Association, UK ( posted the details before; let me know if you need the link, think it is, theswa.org.uk)

Blessings
