Every time I try to think of something creative to do for this project, I come up empty handed. I did visit Sedona this year and experienced the vortex at Cathedral Rock. Is that something I can write about for my project. My mind is a total blank.

I have never been to Sedona, nor Cathedral Rock.

Blank sounds a good place on, or in, which to play

Blank is a good place to start. I wish I could empty my mind long enough to get in some good meditation. Writing is one of the catagories available. What was your experience at cathedral rock? did you have a spiritual awareness of the vortex? The vortex energy of this area is said to be "feminine," (characterized by concepts like softness, receptiveness and compassion) and reportedly is at its strongest right on the creek, at its closest to the rock formation.

How did you feel, what did you sense? If you can write well, you can submit 3-5 pages in an essay format. Again though it needs to be of a spiritual nature.

If that doesn't work, try asking for a dream to uncover any hidden creativity that you might have. In the dream state things may come to you as your spirit communicates to you. Just prior to sleep, ask for help in determining what would be a good project. I did that and an angel was what I saw and a drawing of an angel is what I submitted. I'm not an artist but it was accepted.
Best to you

Thanks so much for your help. I am going to ask for help prior to going to sleep to see what happens. If nothing comes, then I will write about Sedona.

Sedona is beautiful. You are totally surrounded with beautiful mountains. Some of these mountains have unusual rock formations. In these rock formations, there are vortexes. You can actually feel the energy in your body. It is so calming and relaxing. It's a wonderful place to meditate.

Thanks for describing Sedona adbebbs: someone had mentioned it before here - maybe Soulfire? - and I felt very ignorant, being in the UK, not knowing of it.

Sounds like a fascinating project.

enjoy

(ps, the UK has lots of stone circles)

Ha ! why Leo, of course been to them a few times ... and yes, lots of vibes ... some related power spots are Wayland's Smithy (a long-barrow near to Silbury Hill, near to Avebury) ... my wife and I independently both had the sense that Silbury Hill was actually breathing .... also, this last spring went to an amazing stone circle in the Lake District called Castle Rigg ... my wife took photos and on a couple there seemed to be orbs ... think i wrote about this on the Board at the time .. in Oxfordshire there is a circle called, the Whispering Knights, who it is said were knights turned to stone by a witch: and one can never count the same number twice as one tries to count them !

There are many others, shades of ancient civilisations ... there is a wooden henge been discovered, preserved just under the sea off the East Coast of England

adbebbs - Just sit down with a blank piece of paper and a pencil, empty your mind and see what comes. That's what I did. Creativity cannot be forced. Perhaps writing a bit of poetry about Sedona/ the earthbreath is a place to begin. Wishing you much luck.

Yes, Paul, I have a vague memory of our conversation which may have included Sedona. I DO remember the pics your wife took and the strange longing I had. Perhaps there is another lifetime spent in a similar place... I know I resonate with newgrange also for some reason..

While it was years ago, I vaguely remember just creating artwork that had some meaning. I am good with art, so it came easy to me. I then explained what each artwork meant to me.

I did use Paint Shop Pro to do the artwork.

But, somehow, when I need something done, I just start it... and something pours through.

Even if it doesn't look like anything, sit and stare at it... it will become something. I remember a very famous artist who did nothing but different colored lines all over the place. Jackson Pollock was this artists names. His name is linked to his work just for a reference.

All I am saying is that being creative doesn't have to be great for everyone, but it will be great for some. Just let it flow....

Hello,
Some of you have mentioned Sedona under this topic.
I have no knowledge of the resort....it may have been Angel Valley Resort or some such name, but I am aware of James A. Ray, simply because he does things that are of interest to people like me, for whatever reasons. I do not know all the facts of what recently occurred.
But, I would ask you all to pray for (in whatever way you choose) the three people who died in the quest for spiritual purification. And, to heal the others who were bodily harmed by what I would describe at this movement in time as a very unfortunate event.
Some of us, in varying ways and means, have tried to point out that the road we all have chosen to travel down (in our case via the signposts provided by UMS, which is a well traveled and safe path) may not necessarily be a peaceful, blissful or a loving one. There may well be twists and turns that are fraught with danger and peril.
In Sedona, three people sought to emerge from an experience spiritually purged, and, in a way, they have. Is the ultimate result what they bargained for?  I don't know, but I don't think so.
Please be safe and secure in what you do, who you follow, and what you seek.

With Peace and Love,
Marty and Luckylee, Poppyhead, SissyGirl

I'm thinking about what I will do, as well. I think, once I get some materials in front of me, I'll just go wherever I feel compelled at the time. Just trying to narrow down my options.

adbebbs and sagemoonstone, did you decide or are you still working on yours?

I hope to someday go to Stonehenge. The closest I've been is Carhenge in Nebraska.

Blank can be a battle, a struggle against an opponent made of the temporaraly ungraspable. If you intend to make your project a written work my advice is to write for an amount of days you decide each day untill satasfied in each session with no thought on a subject. AFTER THIS, attempt to find a subject and let nothing be out of the question in your writing. The thoughts might flow more easly.

After I submitted my Bachelors creative project, the asked to post it to the UMS website for creative writing projects. This is a different web page at

http://metaphysicalsciences.ning.com/group/umscreativeprojects

So for those looking for examples or a guide of what others have done for this, you can register and look on this web page, listed above

I've just started the course work, but I have a couple of ideas already for this but I'm wondering if there are any particular limits as to size, and how it gets sent in. Does anyone know what the requirements are?

Hi Avalon,

Do you mean the size of the project? Or the size of the picture? You just do your project and send a picture through the email. There will be directions about it in the coursework- as to where to send it, etc.

Avalon,

There is an email address that is like a student questopn drop box, to send to the UMS staff

If you take the tests online, there is a contact UMS with questions location, it is like a question drop box.

I use the term drop box, because it is a general contact, and the first person to the issue seems to respond.

But pictues from a camera are allowed, of the project if it is art.  You can also send the project by mail, but I understand it will not be returned if it is art like a painting...  If you email a picture, I think the pictures start to cause problems with send and recieve (email) at or above 2 meg of data

Great! Thanks, Disa and Foxfires. I'm thinking of an art project that would be difficult to send to Arcata. It's the size of the project I was concerned about, Disa.  At first, I thought it would be quite large, but I decided to make it smaller, but it will still be bigger than a breadbox! So photos are okay? That will make it so much easier! Terrific!

Actually, yes, thank you, Foxfires, I am aware of the contact box to staff, but I thought I'd ask for feedback here first is all.

Avalon,

When you finally get to your paper submissions and finish your degrees, the more questions you as of the thesis staff, the quicker your paper will be graded and accepted.

It is just as with you and your ideas, and theirs, it gets easier for the end process. And they know you as a student better

Yes this is down the road, but just wanted to share!!!
