Location: United Kingdom | As time goes on, I have come to feel that, unless we perceive the global pandemic as a a transformational opportunity with an imperative that we use it as a life lesson to fundamentally reconfigure how we treat each other and our planet, all current suffering would be further wasted.
Kindness, self-sacrifice, reducing economic waste, ceasing exploitation, only doing what is needful, are nothing new, but in today's pandemic we can more easily see the useful necessity of those and other virtues.
A new, soon to be released major film by Sir David Attenborough on our generation as having a final chance to do differently if our race is to survive, drawing attention for further example to rewilding - nature swiftly refills the gap if mankind vacates some of its occupied space - gives further cause for hope.
Just some thoughts on a Sunday before breakfast!
Nice to keep in touch with those still here
Paul

Location: The Heart of Space | Hi, A quick question.......why are so many people demanding that things return to "normal"? Normal was not that great! I mean, you don't see innocent kids getting shot up at school any more. Why would people want to go back to that?? Stay distant (and safe); wear a mask; and llave sus manos, Marty

D'acuerdo mon Ami
Just watching Biden speaking live in Grand Rapids
Covid still seems to me an awful opportunity for humans to relearn our relationship to the world and each other
Yet nothing of this or that is easy
Looking forward to that malt whenever next we can

Location: The Heart of Space | Hiya Paul, I hope all is going well with you. It amazes me how something that should be bringing the world together has had the opposite effect. My country is armed and ready to fight over wearing a piece of cloth over one's nose and mouth. Who'd a thunk it???????? Peace Marty

| The best and the worst of all mankind are showing themselves simultaneously. Stay safe Marty and Paul and all the rest who cast their eyes upon these pages.
As for me, I'll keep having hope, going to work, coming home, doing what's necessary and keeping love in my heart.
I have three new kitties to keep me occupied
May the Universe have mercy on us all. |
