Well, where do YOU think you will be when the body you inhabit now, for whatever reason, ceases to function?

Peas and Prosperity?

Great question Marty ... does the I that is Me, and the You that is You cease when the body wears out .... a question one of whose answers becomes fragile also when the mind disintegrates say, in Alzheimer's and the personality itself alters fragments ...

Regarding resurrection/reincarnation, I grew close to the idea of resuscitation after studying and reflecting on the Jesus in India evidence(s) ... but recent research on the Turin Shroud suggests that the body inside experienced some kind of massive electrical charge ... so if no any of those earlier three phenomena - where would the body go on becoming one with the Divine, if that is what happened .. into another dimension, as in one of the 'many mansions' as Jesus refers to somewhere?

I knew someone once who had 'died' twice before, and she reported that, after coming back to this life, she experienced nothing when on that Other Side (so, you might reply, she had not 'died' at all on those occasions) ... she is now deceased, yet I am constantly aware of her close presence, yet in a very good way ... so is that me, or her ...? Is anything left of us after other than what we have sparked in the hearts of those who survive us?

Yet that fundamental 2,000 year old question remains, where did that body go (on an evidenced-based basis I mean)?

Best

Had further thoughts after posting yesterday ... but was waiting in case anyone else wanted to jump in .... so no, so here goes ....

If the universe is a holographic projection (as some now suggest) - who or what is it doing the projecting ? And if the projection emanates from us, ie, what I see as the universe by way of my physical medium (this body), as Marty asks, when this wears out, does the projection cease, does it withdraw (reminding myself of Freud's ida of cathexis here!), and just stop? Or is the idea of developing our souls mean that in doing that we create some spark within ourselves which is that that burns on with different dimensional existence after physical death (eg, the metaphor of alchemy) ... I have come to the tentative conclusion that might be the case, and is one of the main reasons for spiritual exercises, possibly ...
