Belly Deep Miracle

I’m searching for a coherent thought, a vibrant narrative,
something to illuminatingly, even punchingly,
pull together these disparate strands
into some connect the dots
elaborate/simple belly-deep miracle.

I’m yearning for a great fire breathing
rainbow dragon friend to fly away with.
I’m talking about heart-palpitating
tree-top transcendence
where words break dance before popping
onto the scene with manifest make-believe
mind matter solidity

like justice and the sacred
the unquestionable utter brilliant
inviolate dignity and divine worth
of each and every human being.

I’m stretching toward a kinder light,
within and without, sustainable,
full of cupping and self-kisses
and subatomic, even galactic kindness

where stories are earthworms,
nanotech thunderclaps
preparing the soil so that we may unlearn once again.

I’m dreaming of a community, a massive
crumbling and recreating.
We’re talking about a cumulative
all the sudden tingling
f elt everywhere in the streets
as we participate in and witness once and for all
the historic alleviation of human suffering,
the fulfillment of human need.
