The University of Metaphysical Sciences is a non-profit distance learning facility, offering downloadable courses from the internet or delivered via postal mail. Study at your own pace while you work, stay at home, or travel.

Yes! The prices below INCLUDE all three degrees, any payment plan you choose. It is true, you get all three degrees for ONE PRICE of $1,995 plus course materials fees in the pre-payment plan. There are no other charges (except extra postage for overseas course delivery by postal mail).

All students are enrolled as Doctoral candidates, but no student is required to finish the program. If a student only wants to study as far as the Bachelors degree, this is fine. Listed here are the payment plans, and also the breakdown of where each degree is awarded based on payments. The student is welcome to stop wherever he or she would like. The student is also welcome to pick up where he or she left off later, as long as studies resume within five years of the student's enrollment date.

The increase in tuition in the short and long term payment plans reflects University of Metaphysical Sciences financing charges for the educational loans it provides. For instance, if you cannot afford the prepayment plan (tuition in full) it will only cost $600 to borrow the full tuition amount for 4 years in the long term payment plan. This is an extremely low interest rate. (3%)

If you would like to pay for internet downloads all at once, even if you have signed up for the short, medium or long term payment plans, you are welcome to choose the prepayment plan for internet downloads. You may also sign up for shorter plans for course materials if you are on the medium or long term plan, but courses will still be delivered at the specified rate determined by the tuition payment plan you selected. This plan requires no money for postage, even in other countries. Diplomas are sent in the mail, but there is no extra charge for that.

Tuition is in addition to your Course Materials Payment plan. There are no hidden fees or charges, you do not have to pay extra charges to keep your degree current or valid like with some other schools. Once you earn your degrees, they are yours for life with no further obligation to UMS or the church.

Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate Degrees are awarded as the student completes curriculum requirements. Delivery of course materials is spread out over a year unless the student specifies that he or she would like to take the courses more slowly. Bachelors degree can be earned in 6 months, Masters in 4 months, and Doctorate 2 months. Doctorate diploma cannot be received until 1 year has passed from the beginning of study at UMS.

The short term plan is for students who have more financial means and can pay approximately $200 per month, but not enough to pay full tuition. This is a plan that will keep the student on schedule as courses are completed, with no lag time between courses because of slower payments, as in the medium or long term payment plan.

Doctorate Degree awarded: $1,500 + $690 + $200 = $2,390

Tuition Medium Term Payment Plan

This plan is for the student who can afford approximately $100 per month. Courses are given out more slowly as the student pays more slowly, but courses can be taken more quickly than in the long term payment structure. Courses are spread out over two years rather than one year.

This is a four year loan/payment plan for students who can only afford $50 per month. The advantage of the long term payment plan is financial leniency on the student's budget as far as down payment and monthly billing cycles. The disadvantage is that the student must move through the courses more slowly unless he or she makes lump sum payments in order to speed up his or her progress through the courses. Courses are sent out in packets according to where the student is in his or her payment plan.

In University of Metaphysical Sciences' experience, students make larger payments in the months they have more money so they can move through the courses more quickly. Students rarely need the full 48 months to finish their doctorate degree, for finances fluctuate and sometimes a student can pay more in financially better months. Often, the student improves his or her finances by using some of the techniques in the course materials and audio meditations.

The advantage to the long term loan is that the student can at least get started and begin studies. Even though the student must progress at a rate which reflects the monetary value of the course materials, getting started is the first important step. The student can pay more when he or she wants to, yet is never obligated to more than $49.89 per month if finances are low in any given month.

Tuition Reductions For Spouses & Family Members
If a student's husband/wife (same sex marriages are also welcome) or immediate family member (mother, father, daughter, brother) would like to enroll in the program, a 5% reduction in tuition is available for the student who refers his or her immediate family member or spouse. This is not applicable to roommates or friends.
