what guarantees are there that is really life after death? or a heavenly abode for the spirit of those who died on earth? What is it like? Will there be families too? I'd like to think that families are forever and that when we die, we will be reconciled with our loved ones who died before us.

Well, I can't tell you from experience but I do have hope! I guess we'll either find out, or not one day...
If you feel up to it, read the book, AT HOME WITH GOD, by NEALE DONALD WALSCH.
Reading this book really cleared things up about life after "death" for me.
Worth a read.
The issue of life and death should be viewed along other non-human things like plants which also show the glory of the Creator.
When we plant a seed it decays to be alive again in form of a tree. Like wise, death is just the other side of birth. We die so that we can be born again and we are born so that we can die.
Perhaps I should add that when we are born into the physical world we are here to acquire some knowledge to advance the development of our souls. Or as some scholars call it ,"to correct our past mistakes". Once the assignment is completed on earth we go back to the spiritual world to see what lesson is yet to be learned. If the soul needs to learn new lessons it goes into a chosen body to be born again. If however it is a perfect soul it does not return to the physical world again. The point is that the soul never dies because it is the creator's essence in us. Hence there is life after death.
As for the loved ones, since the souls of those who have some lessons to share or learn together come together in form of a family on earth it might be possible to still be together. However, this might depend on the degree or level of development of each soul within the family. Each soul is responsible for his or her own actions.
Blessing to all.

My study of the nature of the universe (I, steadfastly believing that it is holographic in nature) has lead me to also have to study quantum mechanics, string theory, multi dimensions, and all other hosts of odd phenomena. I can, with a fair amount of certitude, tell you, that you do not "really" die. The energy, i.e. life force, that is the you that you perceived, takes on another perceptual reference. Can the past and the present interrelate (pre-mortum, post mortum)? My theory is that of course they can! But, it is very complicated, and hard to prove. If I could have just one, and I would only need one, clearly established "haunting", in other words the verification of a presence from "beyond"; it would go a long way in proving my belief and my hypothesus.
This is the topic of my future Masters Thesis. I have experienced paranormal phenomenas since I was a child. My house had a ghost. I subsequently read
all I could find on the paranormal. This is actually probably why I have been interested in metaphysics all my life. I have read a lot on the topic and find Dr. Moody's book on near death experiences "Life after Death" (I believe) very interesting. I have almost died myself as a child and has an out of body experience which was enough to convince me that I was not my body and I could leave the body and still exist.
In the last few years I have done hospice care of people and pets. I found that they could invariably give me signs that they still were
"around" after their passing. I intend to do more documentation on this topic. It is true that at this point in time I have no way of making this a
truly scientific experience and it is mostly based on my own emotional assessment of a situation. I hope that by collecting other people's testimonies
of how their love ones communicated with them after death may provide some patterns or answers? If anyone is interested in emailing me a testimony I would be very happy to get them for my thesis and eventually share those findings.
There is really on only continued Consciousness. In the beginning, we choose to take embodiment and to Expand the Light of the God Presence. Embodiment is/was natural and simply a way of Balance until we Ascended back in to the Higher Octaves/Body of Light. Because of lowering the Energy -- turning a way from God/Source, we clouded Truth and forgot God. "Knowing God is simply the restoration of forgotten memory." Therefore, one learns or remembers that we are co-Creators and that Life is Eternal, and that Venus, for example, is a Beloved Sun of Life and Beings that only experience Happiness.
To the Question then, reincarnation is a fact because of flaws by use of free will; thus, one returns to balance and make amends for that. After passing on, we are taught by the Ascended Masters in the Octaves of Light. We will embody again on Earth and try again to attain the Goal of Life. Knowing this alone, is invaluable.
After we attain this Goal, we no longer embody, and go at will, and where we will in an Electronic Body. This Form is made of Liquid Light. In it we are truly Unlimited God Beings. Of course, all this we already know and that we truly live forever -- some times individuals simply need to be reminded.
The number of Systems of Worlds and Infinity of God is Wondrous and the most Beautiful Poem or Music would not be able to capture it all........... although it is True the Great Cosmic Music of the Spheres Created It All!
I have also read Dr. Moody's books, they had a profound affect on how I percieved the universe. Wht really impressed me is reading the other books on Near Death experiences, ones by Morse, Brinkley, Eades, and finding they had such common ground, they did not contradict each other at all. This was very comforting to me, I grew up very aware of how the different religions contradict each other and remember as a child feeling very disconcerted that a whole lot of people must be wrong since they are believing different things. But after reading on the subject of NDE I discovered that there really is One Truth for us all, and belief is not required..
I would be interested to know, where do you plan to pursue this Master's Thesis?

When the Master Jesus willingly allowed himself to be nailed to the Cross, he demonstrated to humankind through the example of his own life that there is no death and that our true self is eternal and immortal. There is no doubt in my mind that he could have escaped that fate, had he wanted to. And yet, he resisted this temptation, for he was aware that he had come as a teacher and a way-finder of the Aquarian Age for us all.

Ask to see proof, and you will get it. I asked and I got it big time.
Two days after my grandfathers passing, he appeared in my room, in the flesh and looked about 50yrs younger. He was radiant, beautiful, happy. I was caught off guard and didn't have the right questions to ask, but the one I did ask was: What's it like? He answered, "I'm young again". That smile on his face answered more with out saying anything else. Then I told him that i loved him and missed him. This happened in broad daylight, just as i awoke. I know i wasn't sleeping, because i got up right then and grabbed the phone, as proof i was awake.
When i first noticed him, he was clear, see through, like a blob of sleep in both my eyes, like in the movie the Abyss is the only way i can explain it when they saw the water take form. I could see a human outline. It's when i recognized the human outline that i noticed it was indeed Grandpa, and at that point, the flesh tone happened.
He communicated through Telepathic means. We all must be able to do this, but for the most part, have forgotten, due to our physical voice box. but I understood what he was saying, as well as replied in the same mannor. Just breath taking.
He hugged me before leaving and it wasn't physical but more like a radiant energy flowing through my body. I cried in happiness.
I went to his funeral that night, but i wasn't sad.... i knew he was no longer trapped in that old shell.
This event took place in 1998. but i remember it, as if it happened yesterday. I will never forget it for it was my own PROOF.
I am not afraid of death. I love life so much, and wish to experience a long one, but the
subject of death does not scare me. It sounds stupid, but it'll be exciting for me to realize
what death is when my time has come; and I am certain that there is no punishment. I
believe that we are all connected, and in that way we will never lose our loved ones, even
though some travel ahead before we do. My favorite uncle passed away some days ago,
but I feel that he is in peace and in no pain. It does hurt to know I won't see him here
anymore, but he is in a way still with me.
Carmen you approach to this subject is what it means to have personal courage. I read your post twice and have decided your attitude is my model for a future upcoming event, the death of my father. It would seem that by affirming this mind set you have for myself, I can provide the inner strength I need to be strong for my other family members. My brother is close to my father, and is very worried he will pass soon, since he is elderly and not in good health. Of course, eventually this will be the case, and its on me to raise the vibration of that experience to one of gladness for a complete life, rahter than the morose mourning that I'm sure he will be mired in... Thanks so much for putting this out there, it means much...

What happens when you don't fear it at all, but you long for it?
To be honest, i am tired..... tired of stress, tired of people, tired of everything. While my children are my sole purpose for remaining in this place at all, I so long to be back in my REAL home. Away from pain, judgement, stupidity and mean people.
I know i sound depressed, and perhaps i am.
Hi J...I am so glad that you are posting. It just sounds like recently you have been through a whole lot of stress and right now you are tired, worn out. Give yourself time to rest and revive. You have a beautiful mind and it simply needs some rest and comfort. Try not to focus on the negativity that seems to surround. There are tremendous numbers of good people who are cultivating their minds to reflect peace, love, light and beauty. I hear it all the time from the students at UMS. Wonderful things ARE happening in consciousness. Heaven is being manifested on earth. The media would not have you recognize that though. Do something really nice for yourself. We love you and appreciate you. Peace! Tracy

I am actually feeling quite better lately. It seems everyone gets into a rut.... well, i just climbed back out. LOL
Ruh roh.... back to being my ornery self. LOL
Needless to say, I was trying to fall asleep last night and thought to myself, gosh, what if i died right then. To be honest, it scared me. (which is a good sign) It didn't scare me about death itself, it scared me about how my children would cope and could my husband afford my passing at that time. I don't think i have life insurance yet. He would get by no doubt, but I am no way READY to be thinking about departing this realm.
The topic is a very good one though.... because as many things as i have witnessed and experienced, it's all too easy to hate a world where we feel pain, cold and so much suffering.
That is why it's so important to LOVE your family and friends. They will be the ones who pull you through in times of pain.
Like Tom Robbins said, everything in life is wither Yuk or Yum....
Its up to us to pursue the tasty...
HI Supernatural3
Your experience is exactly what Ramana pursued, the idea that "geez, what if I died right now? What then?" He literally found enlightenment by meditating on this question and asking himself "who am I"... really. It is a great place to be! Dive right into that fear, it leads to enlightenment! Face death fully, and find out that you survive even death! Then the universe is your oyster!
Indeed, exploring the issue of the end of your (and others) life will clearly bring the need for being on the spiritual path into focus. It sounds like, Supernatural3, you used these reflections to pull yourself out of y our rut. I'm going to remember that to combat discouragement...

It's not easy by any means. We have to deal with so many negative things here. Cold, hunger, society either accepts you or rejects you and all you can do is hope to love yourself enough to not care what anyone thinks. The only people that will make or break your world are your family and close friends. when down, turn to them . . . it is they who will let you know that you do make a difference in their world. Maybe the lights shine a little brighter, because you supply the energy to light someone elses world.
I found when depressed, the more you do things for others, the more rewarding life is for one's self. I don't even care what i get out of things anymore. To make someone else smile and happy, is reward enough for me.
It was my grandmother who inevitably pulled me out of serious depression, along with listening to the audeo book Conversations with God, by Neale Donald Walsch. my grandmother is currently 101 and half years old. her mental state is better then my own and she was a teacher all her life. She broke her foot, and it was I who had to help her daily. It forced me to get out of bed and do something for someone else. That is when i realized, the more we help others, the more our lives are complete.
Now I am married to a very wonderful man, whom i want to make happy. It's my goal to make sure he smiles.... and loves his life. That alone makes me so happy to see him smile, it actually IS making me happy too. It's so weird, but it works.
Anyway, i thought i would share more of what has worked for me.
HUGS to you all!
Supernatural, you just made me very happy. It really warms my heart to read something like that. There should be more people like you around.

Awww, You just made me smile too! Little things can be very rewarding. HUGS TO YOU!
Sorry for being the "late bloomer" on these threads, but I enrolled just 2 weeks ago, so I am slowly catching up with reading the posts. This is a subject that is near and dear to my heart, and I too, feel absolute "proof" that I have lived before, I have spent "time" on The Other Side in between incarnations, I will lay this body aside, spend some more "time" on The Other Side, and come back in again, for what I have shown will be my last lifetime.
In my meditations, I have been "shown" "scenes" of some of my previous lives, and recently, I saw glimpses of my next life. It was like watching a movie, I saw myself advance in age to somewhere in the 90's to a future scene with my 4 grandchildren in their 40's (I have 2 year old triplet grandchildren and a 5 year old granddaughter). I was on my "deathbed" (hate to call it that) and they were all around my, very sad. I didn't "see" either of my sons there, so I really don't know what that means. I "saw" myself flatline, go to The Other Side, and fast forward to my next life.
In this future life, I seemed to be well-established in metaphysical circles, my husband and I seem to be Founders of some sort of spiritual organization. (I get to be married next time around, all of my adult life, which will balance out this present karma of being single most of my adult life! LOL) It was very exciting, and when I returned to this physical reality, my "Guides" told me that I don't have to wait until the next lifetime; that even though I am already 53, it's still not too late to get started right now, and that I should get started right now, I can still be a metaphysical teacher/leader.
Within 2 days, I was led to this school, and I didn't even know what I was looking for! So yes, I do believe in the continuity of life, that the soul continues its journey from lifetime to lifetime until the body is no longer needed as a teaching/learning vehicle. Has anyone else had this type of an experience about the certainty of life before life and life after death?

Thank you, Doc Jill!
My work with other people who are having problems is the single most effective way to keep me out of the depression that I used to be plagued with continually. I love to be alone to pray and meditate, but I am finding that spirituality without service is self-indulgence.

i do feel it's very rewarding to help others. Makes you feel deserving of more love, although you deserve it anyway. LOL
I had the same type of movie glimpses you did Aryona.... i saw my future life. Dang it.... wasn't sure i was going to come back. HA HA HA
My life is very filled with a lot of stress lately and i am trying my best to calm it down. I know beyond a shadow of doubt that life exists, after death, because i have seen it, as i posted above. But... i don't recommend just taking my word on it. You have to become spiritual and experience things.... ASK and you will be shown.
I just hope when people ask, they are ready for the truth.... because it's not always pretty. Some of the glympses i got, were of other people hurting me. Sometimes i don't like psychic abilities.... one just has to focus on good, and forgive others, for being human. The only way to really cope, with out drugs. LOL
I used to not be thrilled about the prospect of coming back. Now, as long as I follow the spiritual path I have been led to and fulfill my purpose as a Teacher of God, it's no problem.
Jill, you can protect yourself from people hurting you in the future. If we learn to see all situations from the "Master Self" the Christine speaks of in the meditation tapes, we cannot be harmed.
