I have yet to see a modern day hero! Some portray that a%$^)le McCain as a hero but, jeez, HE GOT CAUGHT!!!!! Some people made sure they didn't get caught by the enemy. When one is in charge of things, the order of the day is "if it moves, kill it"

99.99(repeating)% of the time, the people running for power are there to serve private ends and want nothing to do with the people they are supposed to represent. This is reset of course, by revolution.

How can anyone be a hero in this day and age, when there is NO privacy. We are not aloud to be human. We are supposed to be perfect and never let our ego or shadow side be seen. But we cannot be placed in such a dense body, and not have shadow. Duh~ I feel people should be aloud to be imperfect, as long as the intent was for the better.

I am not into politics. I cannot say here what I want to say because this is not a political site. However, I am leaning towards the Republican party. However, in all honesty I am Independent. There is no Independent choice. RATS

We are only sold on advertisements and lies and never get to personally know who we are ever voting for every time we vote at all, which is sad. Thankfully, metaphysics helps us send energy into the universe, so that it may heal the hurting.

I like to think that people are heros everyday for one reason or another, your one by default for being a Mom. and my privacy was all stripped away when i joined the military. Now my definition of privacy is about what is within, all external actions can be witnessed to no evasion of my privacy anymore. I believe that perfection only lies in inperfections. I agree completely with your last sentence. I think "By the people.." has been dead for years.

Why 'strange', Jill ?

... and yes, too ... fundamentally, I think I believe that metaphysics is all we can do;

though whether it is 'us' that does the 'doing', I wonder ... I suspect the best we can do is enable the right conditions to exist for the universal energy to be permitted to perfect Itself: through us

then, heaven exists here and now

Well Paul... lol, I thought it was strange because you and I seem to think very differently. I think of you as a very unique philosophical guy who puts a lot of emphases on quoting out of many books that I have not read, and that I just do not like.

However; I value the different perspectives brought into such a place, where if one person cannot explain visions well, another one can. So between us all, we have a very well rounded unity. This creates a fantastic learning forum. :P

I just wasn't expecting that the very SAME things that stood out to you, were the exact same ones that spoke beautifully to me. So the differences I thought we had, were not so different after all. It's just that out of so many..... those few did shine brighter for me too. Usually we have different tastes.

Oh yeah, and when I was talking about humans not able to be a hero. I mean that in the popular way by becoming well known for one's efforts. The media always exploits the negative over the positive. The smaller guy (girl) never gets credit rarely if they are unknown. Yet the known get criticized, knocked down and in many cases shot at and killed (I.e.John Lennon). Seems so that if you shine, others cannot take it and have a need to dim your light. Yet, If you don't, it's labeled depression, failure or worthless, etc.

I guess just blocking out the exterior world, knowing perfectly well that your world IS accepting yourself, is all one needs.

I just hope that while accepting one self is hero enough by taking it just five minutes longer. LOL

It's all good~

Yeah, being a hero will often make one a martyr.
But a martyr is a much more powerful thing.
Charactor dies, deeds are forgotten, symbolism lives forever.
So then we could say,
A hero is brave five minutes longer, but a martyr was brave for the rest of his/her life.

Or even maybe for eternity NE? Since many martyrs also, are unknown.

I wonder if the feat of martyrdom raises one's vibration beyond this dimension.

Though then, in the context of this thread, is martyrdom success or failure ?

Poems on Time by Tagore

The butterfly counts not months but moments,
and has time enough.

Time is a wealth of change,

"Who takes one step towards Me - to you I take ten steps"

(sorry, not sure of source - perhaps Sufi)."

By Paul Joseph

*Have a simillar version that goes thus:

"Who takes a step towards me with a finger-measure (Shibran) I come to them arms-length. Who comes to me arms-length I come to them with open arms and who comes towards me with open arms, I embrace them. I  become their eyes with which they see with. I become their arms with which they touch with"...

*Not sure of my translation

'Hadith Qudsi (Devine Narration)' to Muhammad (SAWA).

"Blessed are the Peace-makers who shall be called the Children of God."

*I Quoted off-head.

Bible.

"The Persevering cooks a stone and drink from its marrow."
