Radiant Queen, Radiant Queen,
Let down your dew dipped hair,
So that I might climb
The Golden stair!

My tongue trampled,
So that I no longer speak,
I will shout out your name
from the highest peak!

The flick of your hand,
Shall be my command,
And the harshest word toward,
Will be my reward!

Sir Martin, and toothsome attendants, Luckpluck, Popptop, and Sissmiss

Perhaps! she thought in her dark spaces,
This mortal may win my fleeting smile.
Will he move me from my magic places?
Will he withstand the fiery trial?
My mother was as cold as ice,
Dwelling in the deep chill sea.
My father burned hotter than the sun's fire
Before considering the reality of Me.
Pronounce my Name on mountain peaks!
Send me skeins of Abyssinian fur
And silver lodes of sunlit streaks!
If he calls my Name just thrice...
But say "Love!" and unfurl my wings.
if only, if only... my Name he sings!
What is it? Confound it, I cannot find
The name with which my fate is signed.

Thrice call the name your fate is signed?
Or is it thrice by three makes nine!

Do Moirae spin and measure and cut the thread,
that makes wings gossamer when they  spread?
Are Clotho, Lachesis, or Atropos; tales tall?
Or one of the names I am to call;
To cast me in your radiant  thrall!

Or do Parcae set upon me to deceive,
and lead me down an Appian road,
In gossamer wings also clothed?
Nona, Decima, Morta, pray-
Is one of three the name to say?

Thrice call the name your fate is signed!
Or is it thrice by three makes nine!

The Norns thread and  tie my tongue,
Uror, Veroandi and Skuld;
bind me with defeats of old;
and shame me, my head hung!
Yggdrasil their love receives,
Tree of World, Life by Tree!

But by my sword I shall cut a limb;
And a tyco sphere I will begin!
A paradise of bounty laden-
But all for naught, without the maiden!

Thrice call the name your fate is signed?
Or is it thrice by three makes nine!
The magic spell is three by three,
Will my fair Queen smile at me?

yikes! HAd trouble with internet connection and nearly popped a vessel trying to get it back up and running.

I was about to throw the kid in the backseat and drive over to the network control center and strangle someone until I received some decent service! Really how many technicians can they send out to my house??? My hubby's friend came over and diagnosed the problem in a flash. I am only moderately OK with hardware and a wiz with software. And, this stupid house that we purchased was supposed to be hardwired for internet in every room...not so!

Phew! That's my rant. Not very spiritual, but I feel much better now....I am baaaacKKKK!

Now then, where are we? Oh yes! Our magical initiatory mandala! I have some lovely little toadstools growing out back underneath the strawberry trees. They will seat about 12...will they do?

12 toadstools sound great Cara, we can always double up, tread water in a dew drop, or dance on the gossamer (being careful not to break the threads as the spiders are only human ...)

We must meet and name our quest
On toadstools may our fannies rest!
Bounty under the berry trees,
Surely Fate will hear our pleas?
Great warriors and sorceresses!
What will get us out of messes?

Your tongue Sir Martin of the Cats
Is smooth as silken fur of bats.
Who are all these earthly names,
That dare to play in Faerie games?
A quest! We'll meet with Cara fair
And Prince of Peas and boldly dare
To walk in realms unknown to man
Because we must! Because we can!

Bring your swords and hands of light
To bring to fame a cause this night.
Three ladies fine and felinacious
Please come and be most gracious
To lend your wisdom, tooth, and claw
And walk in spaces beyond man's law

Spiders toes and thorny rose,
A cauldron and a runny nose,
Underneath the berry tree
We'll form a spell for setting free
A force, farce, a spelling bee.
A Quest! A quest for you and me!

Oh No, Paul! Allow me to share a little ditty from Dr. Suess' "Oh, The Places You Will Go"--

You can get so confused
that you'll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.

Oh I see... so was i writing in the Dr Suess style never having read him (or her) ? I had no idea. Just shows. What, I don't know; but everything must show something ! Was inspired to respond to Tracy's great impromptu verse. Maybe some unconscious communication was at work ...

Apparently!! Very similar in cadence..for sure! That reminds me of something I learned when I was taking hemodialysis management classes in Providence, Rhode Island.

I hope I get this right-

At first you don't know what you don't know.
Then you know what you don't know,
Then you don't know what you know,
Then you know what you know.

Hummm ... I can say that I have never ever ever read Dr Suess ... maybe he (or she) got there first ... Where though ?

Hummmmmmm

.... for me, as to your ditty, will we ever know what we do not know ? Once we know something, do not the edges of knowledge and not-knowing expand ?

I don;t know (this is becoming a slight reprise of the 'Uncertain' thread)

The most revered EpiscoPaul ponders: "for me, as to your ditty, will we ever know what we do not know ? Once we know something, do not the edges of knowledge and not-knowing expand ?

I know that we know what we know. We only enter into the state of unknowingness when we ponder, question and thirst to know more. That is when we know that we do not know. Because we have an awareness that there is more to know.

Perhaps living by the motto: Ignorance is Bliss is a more simplistic way of life, and has more credence than a potentially silly statement usually receives! In this case you will never ponder, question and thirst for more. You will be completely blissed out on your current state of "knowing".

Always watch where you are going. Otherwise, you may step on a piece of the Forest that was left out by mistake.

and then i thought we,d have vivaldi playing the four seasons,we have to embrace them all, then i thought,oh no,i couldn,t do that, cos theres no electric in the woods, and i couldn,t bring my portable cd player,so,i realized that as we would be surrounded by trees,we couold call upon a celestial carpenter,to make us violins, and a choir of angels will sing our first song, amazing grace, cos we won,t be lost anymore, symbolic,i,m just wondering about the cake, but i,m sure someone will come forth and help!!!,irisx

Sunpetalblossom dearest - why, we can always sing unaccompanied .. in the blue ridge mountains of Virginia etc (remember Laurel & Hardy?!) ... but prithee forsooth too, flutes can carry fairly well without the electrical boost, and may attract a few bluebirds of happiness ...

... and Lori, is the bongo an illusion or is the illusion a bongo ? Ha .. so glad for you that you know !!

so many are singing unaccompanied today,it doesn,t make for good choirs, plus, they are out of tune, out of league, ivy of course, and out of pocket,no no,this cannot be allowed,it has to be stopped,i will bang the umslingo drum call,to summon the chief immediately.
