Hello Party Marty, your friendly felines and all!

I beg to differ, Mr. Man- I have been in many buildings that have no 13th elevator button, and to me that means no 13th floor for public access, per se. I unfortunately do not have the time, nor the desire to check out blue prints of buildings I have visited in the past. Of course if you have a building with say, 20 floors, if you count from 1-20, the # 13 falls in there! So I am willing to say that we are both right. Peace Out, Yo. (Said in my best ebonics)

I do hazily recall in a long ago time visit to your esteemed shores

Thee Americano peoples

[by which i mean, for the sake of specifity and clarification, so as not to speak,

so to speak

through any glass darkly [St Paul, not me]]

not the indigenous peoples of the continent of the USA - those who lived or resided there before being 'discovered'

so to speak, since they, it is inferred at this late date

that 'they' [the indigenous ones to whom we shall return later]

did not know they were lost:

Back to my point:

I checked out elevators, etc and was surprised to have my prejudice confirmed that the buildings of the USA in my experience eschewed (did not have) the floor 13.

But of more substantive metaphysical note i also wish to add, that,

the indigenous folk of your great continent,

a) did not need to be discovered - they were already there; and moreover

b) might, arguably, have been better not to have been discovered (that can be expanded upon at will)

Finally, moreover moreover, the above is written in cognizance, with more than due respect to, in fact, in support of, the arguments & archaeological (spelling - ho hey, only God is perfect) findings that, over 12,000 years ago, Atlantis was in or thereabouts the Andes, and many of our contemporary sacred sites are based on sacred geometry originating in the Americas (not the other way around)

And by 'our' in the preceding post, i meant,

our, as in the North Western Hemisphere of the Developed world.

Goodness me, doing a post these days is like drafting a legal document,

Now, where is that coach and horses that can drive through all this ?

or, through which all this can be driven through ?

I love this board and it helping me grow. Thanks Christine.

Sunflower, PJ, and also Lori- I am glad the Crate and "Barrel" piece was cleared up. It is a nationally recognized registry. Very easy to register online for families that live on opposite coasts of U.S. I thinkthat is how Lori meant it. My "scraping the bottom of the barrel" comment refers to sinking to the lowest level. I guess you would have to go back and read it in context. I can hardly remember how I used it myself. There is no connection between the two.

Sunflwer-
Sorry to hear about your accident. It sounds like your body and heart are hurting from the experience.

Gotta run. Sleepy baby needs me! And, I have little curious fingers hitting my keyboard!

Holy Department Stores, Batman! Are we still talking about that, too? I cleared that up about 800 posts ago! Ah, the challenges of discussion board life. But ya know what? I'll take it, because you are all a part of my life. I find myself thinking of you all during my day, wondering how others would handle situations and if you would all giggle along with me about certain mundane things that life presents to you....I think Paul mentioned that while he was away he was pondering some issues on the board and I have a hunch that he and I are not alone!

It is fabulous, the banter, the silliness and playfulness, the unintentional miscommunications and misunderstandings, the need to clarify...the need to make ourselves clear...the need to be sure we are not hurting anyone and the ultimate respect we have for this board and each other. I think it is just absolutely beautiful. You guys have managed to chip your way into my heart, and for that I am ever grateful.

Autumn leaves crush and become mulch, feeding the earth with nutrients. Water- even the gentlest trickle or splash holds as much divine power as a roaring tsunami.

PS: you academics you think what you want. So there!

Love and Peace, after all, it is all academic to me.

You may well say that, but I am the only one here still on the Board, still posting and still apparently talking to myself.

How mad is that !?

Ah well, tomorrow always comes. Maybe.

Unless it is 2012 (Ha - a near midnight joke, forget I mentioned it!)

Hello Instinctual! Love your poems. Thought I would stop in to see if I could track down Party Marty and the Furballs.
Found you and Paul here bantering, very interesting.

Not exactly sure Sunflower ... there are a couple of possibilities, just as memory serves me here ..

- there was the Scarlet Pimpernell, a series of books, by Baroness Orczy , made into films and TV , about an English aristocrat during the French revolution, who makes undercover trips to Paris to save the French aristocracy from the guillotine ... the 'strap line' was, 'they seek him here, they seek him there, they seek the Elusive Pimpernell everywhere'.

- there is the poem by T S Eliot called, Macavity the Mystery Cat, for whom Eliot I think borrowed the strap line ('Macavity's a mystery cat, he's called the hidden claw' ,etc)

- there is an English pop song from the 60s, that sounds like it too, but I cannot remember it all, or who sang it; maybe the Kinks - 'they seek him here, they seek him there ? in Kentish Town, in Berkely Square .. ? the Napoleon of fashion ... ' (something like that anyway, although Macavity was also said to be the Napoleon of crime', which Eliot also playfully borrowed from Sherlock Holmes' description of his arch adversary, Moriarty)

the chain of ideas is always very complex but fascinating, I feel.

10005001001001001002525

Working off a lappytop, as my mean CPU machine has died.....or maybe it is just the screen???? Every building in the contemporaneous USA has a 13th floor, it is required by code that all floors be numbered correctly. BUT????????? Do you all know about the 13th floor of the twins? I mean the WTC 1&2?????? ALL of the people on those floors, both buildings, SURVIVED!!!!! Little known, and not much talked about...but TRUE! Can't type a long explanation as I don't like this lappytop....don't know where all the keys are...but you all dream that the number 13 saved them.....I am sure that they will agree with me....it is the luckiest number in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The picture of the man in a business suit running away as the towers collapsed worked on the 13th floor.....FACT or fiction?

Peace,

Marty and non-laptop cats....as I am turned around in our usual, familiar chair, L&P&Sissy
