Hello all!

Music has always been my 'thing', right, playing it, listening to it, getting lost in it, being inspired by it to create art and re-create my Soul. It seems I always have this synchronistic dance going on with songs that flow in and out of my life.

So, I am inspired (by another thread where Mr Martin quoted a song I found myself drawn to at that particular time) to share some lyrics of songs that have guided my way...I'll start with a couple and then add more as time goes....please add your own as I hate singing alone!

MollyB

Sister Awake by The Tea Party

when the winter was over
she returned there to find him
and her memories filled her with light

she remembered the beauty
she remembered desire
and her memories filled her with light

i am the sun in the flame
cold from the flame turns away
and in these winds came a change
she awakes...

sister walk through these fields of delight
I want you to know
desperation's the tenderest trap
so gently you go
what will it take
sister awake

when this beautiful cult of desire
has left you for dead
isolation will cradle the lies
of things left unsaid
what will it take
sister awake

and you'll look to the heavens above
and taste it's deceit
these temptations have blinded desires
to sleep at their feet
what will it take
sister awake

and you'll hear them call out your name
invoking the fates
chances are you've traveled too far
in stirring their hate
so what will it take
my sister awake

Emerald by The Tea Party

Confess what you crave
a life without pain
you'd kill for the taste
But the hurt still remains

And still they don't know who you are
They'll still never know who you are

Just be still my emerald
I'll be waiting for you
Do exactly what you're told
I'll be waiting for you

Ashamed by the threats
you pierce the embrace
afraid and alone
In a dark lonely place

Just be still my emerald
I'll be waiting for you
Do exactly what you're told
I'll be waiting for you

did you always want to be?
did they try to steal your soul?
did they hurt you with deceit?
can't you come in from the cold?
be still my emerald

I'll be waiting for you
do exactly what you're told
I'll be waiting for you
to come in from the cold
I'll be waiting for you
Be still my emerald
I'll be waiting for you...

Kay-0, Beesting:
Even though I am New Age, Ambient and Eel-lec-tron-ick, I still love this song by The Turtles:

"Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
So happy together

If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine
So happy together

I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
For all my life

Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together

I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
For all my life

Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together

Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba
Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba

Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together

So happy together
How is the weather
So happy together
We're happy together
So happy together
Happy together
So happy together
So happy together (ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba)
----The Turtles, circa 19??, I honestly don't remember.

Okay Rose.....think, Goog, search and post! I know the songs but I do not remember all the words by any stretch of the imagination!
Would you like sadder song....something done by the Beau Brummels, America's answer to the British Invasion...I thought the Brit groups to be far superior to the Americans at one time.
But I like this song:

 JUST A LITTLE
Beau Brummels

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I can't stay
Yes I know
You know I
Hate to go
But goodbye
Love was sweet
I was kind
Never mean
So I'll cry just a little cause I love you so
And I'll die just a little cause I have to go
Away...
Can't you see
How I feel
When I say
Love's unreal
So goodbye
It's been sweet
Even though
Incomplete
So I'll cry just a little cause I love you so
And I'll die just a little cause i have to go
Away...

INSTRUMENTAL INTERLUDE

Every night
I still hear
Oh your sigh's
Very near
Now it's gone
Gone away
As I once
Heard you say
Now I'll cry just a little cause I love you so
And I'll die just a little cause i have to go
Away...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

WINDMILLS OF YOUR MIND
SUNG BY NOEL HARRISON
FILM: THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnaval balloon
Like a carousell that's turning
Running rings around the moon

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that I said
Lovers walking allong the shore,
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circle that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Lovely-ness! Thanks for posting Marty and Paul!

Here's another, I don't know, just something about this song:

To Sir, With Love - Lulu

Those schoolgirl days, of telling tales and biting nails are gone,
But in my mind,
I know they will still live on and on,
But how do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn't easy, but I'll try,

If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters,
That would soar a thousand feet high,
To Sir, with Love

The time has come,
For closing books and long last looks must end,
And as I leave,
I know that I am leaving my best friend,
A friend who taught me right from wrong,
And weak from strong,
That's a lot to learn,
What, what can I give you in return?

If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start,
But I, would rather you let me give my heart,
To Sir, with Love

And I could never leave out The Doors..

Not to Touch the Earth

Not to touch the earth
Not to see the sun
Nothing left to do, but
Run, run, run
Let's run
Let's run

House upon the hill
Moon is lying still
Shadows of the trees
Witnessing the wild breeze
C'mon baby run with me
Let's run

Run with me
Run with me
Run with me
Let's run

The mansion is warm, at the top of the hill
Rich are the rooms and the comforts there
Red are the arms of luxuriant chairs
And you won't know a thing till you get inside

Dead president's corpse in the driver's car
The engine runs on glue and tar
Come on along, not goin' very far
To the East to meet the Czar

Run with me
Run with me
Run with me
Let's run

Whoa!

Some outlaws lived by the side of a lake
The minister's daughter's in love with the snake
Who lives in a well by the side of the road
Wake up, girl, we're almost home

Ya, c'mon!

We should see the gates by mornin'
We should be inside the evenin'

Sun, sun, sun
Burn, burn, burn
Soon, soon, soon
Moon, moon, moon
I will get you
Soon!
Soon!
Soon!

I am the Lizard King
I can do anything

and another song from The Doors...

Wishful, Sinful

Wishful crystal
Water covers everything in blue
Coolin' water

Wishful sinful
Our love is beautiful to see
I know where I would like to be
Right back where I came

Wishful, sinful, wicked blue
Water covers you
Wishful, sinful, wicked you
Can't escape the blue

Magic risin'
Sun is shinin' deep beneath the sea
But not enough for you and me and sunshine
Love to hear the wind cry

Wishful sinful
Our love is beautiful to see
I know where I would like to be
Right back where I came

Wishful, sinful, wicked blue
Water covers you
Wishful, sinful, wicked you
Can't escape the blue

Love to hear the wind cry
Love to hear you cry, yeah, yeah

Hi Paul,

However you want to do it...if you feel only a smidgen of the lyrics need to be posted, then I am sure your intutition is telling you the absolute right thing! I look forward to more...and along the windmills theme...

Windmills - Toad the Wet Sprocket

I spend too much time raiding windmills
We go side by side
Laughing until its right

Theres something that you won't show
Waiting where the light goes
Take the darkest hour-break it open
Water to repair what we have broken

There's something that you won't show
Waiting where the light goes
And anyway the wind blows
It's all worth waiting for

Pull on the borders to lighten the load
Tell all the passengers we're going home

I spend too much time seeking shelter
World without end couldn't hold her

Theres something that you won't show
Waiting where the light goes
And anyway the wind blows
Its all worth waiting for
Anyway the wind blows

"Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist" Also by Muse Click here for YouTube Video

Eerie whispers
trapped beneath my pillow
won't let me sleep
your memories

and I know you're in this room
I'm sure I heard you sigh
Floating in between
where our worlds collide

scares the hell out of me
and the end is all I can see
and it scares the hell out of me
and the end is all I can see

and I know the moment's near
and there's nothing you can do
look through a faithless eye
are you afraid to die?

it scares the hell out of me
and the end is all I can see
and it scares the hell out of me
and the end is all I can see

It scares the hell out of me
and the end is all I can see
and it scares the hell out of me
and the end is all I can see

"Stockholm Syndrome" By Muse Click here for Video

I won't stand in your way
Let your hatred grow
And she'll scream
And she'll shout
And she'll pray
And she had a name
Yeah she had a name

And I won't hold you back
Let your anger rise
And we'll fly
And we'll fall
And we'll burn
No one will recall
No one will recall

This is the last time I'll abandon you
And this is the last time I'll forget you
I wish I could

Look to the stars
Let hope grow in your eyes
And we'll love
And we'll hate
And we'll die
All to no avail
All to no avail

This is the last time I'll abandon you
And this is the last time I'll forget you
I wish I could

And this is the last time I'll forget you
I wish I could

"Enjoy The Silence" by Depeche Mode - Click here for Video (right click for to open in new window/ or tab)
Words like violence

Break the silence

Come crashing in

Into my little world

Painful to me

Pierce right through me

Can't you understand

Oh my little girl

All I ever wanted

All I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only harm

Vows are spoken

To be broken

Feelings are intense

Words are trivial

Pleasures remain

So does the pain

Words are meaningless

And forgettable

All I ever wanted

Enjoy the silence

I cannot help it, I am a total music junky..... i could give up my vision, but please do not take away my sound. This song is truly one to bring about metaphysical journey. So sorry i have not had much time to devote to the pc while family issues are going on. Plus is my b-day tomorrow and we are celebrating today. Fun fun... I am going to herbal store to get some mugwort, licorish root, and maybe some nightshade. Making a sache for under my pillow.

These lyrics (amd music) hit home with me. Click here for video, right click and open in new window. Remember this video and long beginning before the sound starts. Worth the wait....
This song hits deep. Can be sexual too.... but I like the spiritual aspect of it, connected with the human soul.

"World In My Eyes" By Depeche Mode
Let me take you on a trip

Around the world and back

And you won't want have to move

You just sit still

Now let your mind do the walking

And let my body do the talking

Let me show you the world in my eyes

I'll take to the highest mountain

To the depths of the deepest sea

We won't need a map, believe me

Now let my body do the moving

And let my hands do the soothing

Let me show you the world in my eyes

That's all there's

Let me put you on a ship

On a long, long trip

Your lips close to my lips

All the islands in the ocean

All the heavens in the motion

Let me show you the world in my eyes

That's all there's

Nothing more than you can touch now

That's all there's

Let me show you the world in my eyes

When you're falling awake

and you take

stock of the new day

and you hear your voice croak

as you choke

on what you need to

Say

Don't you laugh

Don't you sigh

Lick the tear from your eye

We will meet in the sweet

Light of dawn

Life's a long song

But the tune ends too soon

For us all

Thanks, Jill! I haven't heard anything by Muse before, but how I love Depeche Mode!

Paul - I wish I had written it! It's by toad the wet sprocket...called 'Windmills'. I think off the album Dulcinea (a la Don Qioxote). Speaking of that...a song for a knight...

The Impossible Dream - Man of La Mancha

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far

To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star

Jimmy Paige wanted to leave the group and play with a lesser known group...which later on became Led Zeppelin, need I say more? But Jeff Beck joined and kept the group alive for a while longer. Keith Reilf and Jim "Scooter" McCarty wanted the group to stay alive, and with the success of "Stroll On" in the Antonioni(sp?) movie, "Blow Up", they managed to survive together to record one more hit......and Jeff Beck sang it in all the other bands he ever played in......

Sick at heart and lonely,
Deep in dark despair.
Thinking one thought only-
"Where is she, tell me where?"
And if she says to you
That she don't love me,
Please give her my message.
Tell her of my plea.

And I know
That if she had me back again,
I would never make her sad.
I've got a heart full of soul.

She's been gone such a long time,
Longer than I can bear.
But if she says she wants me,
Tell her that I'll be there.
And if she says to you
She don't love me,
Please give her my message.
Tell her of my plea.

And I know
That if she had me back again,
I would never make her sad.
I've got a heart full of soul

And so, to the YardBirds, who quite adequately expressed that sense of love, so many years ago!

Peace,

I am a hard rocker..... Alternative Musics.... but they must relate mostly somehow to spiritualism.

Here is one I really love: click here for vid

By Dinosaur Jr. "I feel the pain"

I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing
I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing
I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing
I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing
Is it up to me ?
You won't wait to see
Screwed us both again
About as close as you dare
I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing
I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing
Is it up to me ?
You won't wait to see
Screwed us yet again
About as close as you dare
Hey now, take it back
Get off me, you're sad
Trailin' on your scene
Just try and keep it clean

This song reminds me of how we bounce back and forth.... try to help, but most won't accept it.

OHHHH....and also the lines that I have heard kids all over the world sing...though they may have had no idea what they were singing........but they can imitate our language...and I think they truly know the meaning......it is a refrain passage from a Grass Roots song...."But a little gold ring"......and if the song pops into your head at this point, you are truly a romantic, and should dedicate your life to ethereal things!

"The sound of your footsteps
Telling me that you're near
Your soft gentle motion, baby
Brings out the need in me that no-one can hear, except

In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
In my midnight confessions
When I say all the things that I want to
I love you

But a little gold ring you wear on your hand makes me understand
There's another before me, you'll never be mine
I'm wasting my time

Staggering through the daytime
Your image on my mind
Passing so close beside you baby
Sometimes the feelings are so hard to hide, except

In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
In my midnight confessions
When I say all the things that I want to
I love you

In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
Na na-nana na na na-na
Na na-nana na na na-na

Hat's off to the Grass Roots for singing the most memorable line in rock n' roll history.......

"Hollow Life" By KoRn

Feeding the fall
I can't help but desire of falling down this time
Deep in this hole am I making
I can't escape
Falling all this time

We come to this place
Falling through time
Living a hollow life
Always we're taking
Waiting for signs
Hollow life

Fearing to fall
And still the ground below me calls
Falling down this time
Ripping apart all these things I have tried to stop
Falling down this time

We come to this place
Falling through time
Living a hollow life
Always we're taking
Waiting for signs
Hollow life

Is there ever any wonder
Why we look to the sky
Searching space
Asking why?
All alone
where is God?
Looking down
We don't know

We fall in space
We can't look down
Death may come
Peace I have found
What to say
Am I alive?
Am I asleep
Or have I died?

(Haunting me)

We fall in space
We can't look down
Death may come
Peace I have found

(Something takes a part of me)

What to say
Am I alive?
Am I asleep
We fall down

We come to this place
Falling through time
Living a hollow life
Always we're taking
Waiting for signs
Hollow life
