But I love "Instinctual" because it has saved my life so many times!
Anyway, hi Lorryload...from a Cat Stevens song many years ago.
Oh yeah, if you try to find it his name is something like Jusef Islam, or some other such nonsense...but his album is always Cat Stevens, Tea for the Tillerman.

Peace,

haha! Hey y'all~ Glad everyone seems to be up and well.... mruppert, Cat Stevens-yes...the voice of a generation, my generation, born in 1961, I was. Yes- Yusuf Islam is his name now - the story goes that he was a near drowning victim, found Islam, hence the name change. He has a new album out of late, the name escapes me..but he is incredible in my book. Of course, because of his name change he has been boarded up in airports and denied plane entry because a known terrorist had the same name. Also, Mr. Ruppert, being the true Yank that I am, born and raised in Connecticut, I still know that a Lorry is a truck in England.... Anyway, just enjoying the UMS courses, gobbling up and smooching on the face of little Princess Thang Jordyn as much as her mother will allow, cuz she is just delicious! I truly hope everyone is having a gorgeous day!

With love,
Instinctual Lori -loaded (not with booze, though ) Harumph

If I am breaching confidentiality, then I hope that Cat, aka Yusuf, wil forgive me, but, respect to him, is that he donated some cash to one my social work clients many years ago, without much asking on my part. Thank you, if yu ever log in or if this ever gets back to you. Blessed Be.

That said, and with all due respect; my sense is that dear Cat Stevens' songs were the pinnacle of a certain kind of spiritual seeking in those days - eg, Khatmandu, My Lady D'Arbanville, etc, that seemed to become lost in the skeins of organised religion.

How religion can drive out God. But he seems to have come back to us lately. [Sorry, that sounds incredibly patronising, but one has to speak the truth one feels, I guess, as indeed, he has clearly done]

} The underpinning hand of our Lord and Lady contains us at all times, whether we know it or not, whether we are swimming - or drowning in wild waters or no } our realization is not necessarily their concern, but ours. The drowning is All.

Darn it, who told you? I was, in a distant past life, the Queen's personal dungeon maid, (This possibly explains my irrational fear of mops) as well as having complete responsibility for cleaning and clearing that infamous round table.
PeeJay-you are a hoot and a half.

Well, Lori - I was there too ! That's how i knew (a non-deliberate rhyme) ... the porblem with cleaning that Round Table was that by the time you got to the end you never knew whether it was where you'd started after all !!!

Ahh me, those were the days; up to our necks in mops and buckets .... and the other side had swords.

I suppose that is the problem with all things round! Especially if one is preoccupied and you forget where you begin. Such as the earth. Thanks, Christopher Columbus. Sheesh!

Me ? Christopher Columbus? Or back there at Camelot, Camlann, Avalon ? Or further back, before the false memory that the earth is flat to the recovered memory of the Atlanteans? Or perhaps, the Once and Future ... xx

Oh dear ... is that a thank you ?!x ... that photo is 4 years old from the West London Mission web-site; I was already over 500 years old then, and have aged several more lifetimes since ... the seriously disturbing thing is that I look increasingly like my father and i am at nearly the age when he became incapacitated by his series of strokes; so I look in the mirror and think is that me, him, or him as he was when he began to die ? (Serious stuff eh? ... its that old sardonic Northern English humour creeping in) ... although we are all dying from the moment we are born (aargh, this is the point my sons and wife flee the room screaming) ... as Hamlet said, 'the readiness is all', or as happened in The Seventh Seal, it is what happens in the in-between that matters ....

See you in Avalon

Uh, oh my! You look pretty good for 500+ years. Whatever you have, you can sell it, and I will be your agent. I can also imagine that saying something like that would have your family running out of the room..and I am certain that you are all smirking and giggling at the same time! Sorry to hear that your father suffered strokes. Interesting that we are in the care giving field and both our fathers were ill. We are bred to live longer, though ( according to my rocket scientist husband ) So I am sure you will live to be a good healthy 750 years. No worries for you!
I have to admit that your post reminded me of the Lyrics of the Pink Floyd tune.. "shorter of breath, and one day closer to death".
Oh Joy!

Ciao for now-

Ahh Lorie, to evoke a poem is a good life intention ... ! I only meant 500+ in this onion skin of lifetimes; I have had senses of going much much further back ... sorry to hear about your father. Do say more if you would ever wish to. Curiously I dreamt last night of my father, as he was when he was alive, and also of a very long term psychotherapy patient of mine who recently died of cancer. Love & blessings,
Paul

Thank you, I appreciate your post. My father was always ill, and I was the youngest of 6, so I was always around, hence developed a healthy dose of "I have to take care of everyone" at an early age. ( equates to codependent nurse ).

Maybe your dreams were messages from the other side of the veil, you know? I hope you, and all have pleasant dreams tonight!

Love and Happy Things-

Lori

And, ya know Instink, I hated my Dad when he died and, must say, still do to this day. Though I wish there were, there is NO meditation, philosophy, psychology, or enlightenment that will ever take that hatred away!

Marty, If you feel guilt for hating someone who has long left your life, I hope you can forgive yourself for that hatred. Maybe that is all it takes. If you do not feel guilty for that hatred you carry, I hope you can eventually forgive your father for hurting you. If not, i hope you can forgive yourself for not being able to forgive your father. It all comes down to accepting that we have flaws, but it's temporary. If you NEED the hatred to feel human, we all have to experience some form of hate, just for balance, so we can appreciate the good.

You can be so hard on yourself..... But remember, it's ok to feel. regardless if it's good or bad. Feeling is life....
