F..ollowing on from"E" I think,

Fox sisters (Kate, Leah, and Marggie) played important role in founding of the Spiritualist Church.

"G"...Golem...Jewish legend that certain Rabbi's can create a human slave from clay.Are never allowed to leave the house and are kept in by having word "emeth" (truth) written on their forehead.Golems do not stop growing and when they get too big the letter "E" is removed leaving "meth" (he is dead) and the Golem returns to clay.One supposedly grew so big that when he crumbled he crushed the Rabbi.

Hello Chothuni - phew thanks ... was feeling lonely out here in the Cosmic Forest today ...

George Fox also, was, wasn't he, the founder of the Quakers ? any relation I wonder ? There was a good X-File about a Golem ... and Gollum was in Lord of the Rings ...wonder if Tolkien knew about the Jewish legends ?!

Interesting ...

Hi P.J., Sorry I did not see you through the trees, I did try to reply a few minutes ago but when I hit the reply button I was returned to the main page and was showing as being logged in as a guest! Strange things happen in these enchanted woods.

Yes, George Fox did found the Quakers (only he knew they were missing obviously) and he travelled in North America for a while around 1671, I believe. His wife's name was Margaret as was one of the Fox sisters so it's quite possible there is some relationship, but as far as I know his sons lived in Nottingham and Leicester and were tradesmen so I don't really know. Now I sound like Mavis.

But wasn't Tolkien Jewish himself? (sorry S.F.)

Haven't seen the X-Files for years but I see a new movie is about to be launched, should be good, I used to like that programme.

Enchanted woods indeed ... they spiral directly down and up into the Cosmic Soul !!

Didn't know J R R Tolkien was Jewish ...learn something new every day

As for the band of Foxes, I was born near Leicester, so there's a thing & sometimes think I knew Robin Hood in a past life (he of Sherwood Forest, nr Nottingham)...

Haven't seen the X-File film yet, have gone off cinema, cannot wend my way out of these deep woods ...

Shame you cannot get Dr Who over there, it really is very good metaphysical TV .. now have quite lost the next word or letter ? ...

What's a fence between friends ?

The Fenceless Field is a psychoanalytic text about the relationships between the work of Jung and Klein ..

Fences are there to be crossed & mended !!

Ah, then that wouldn't be Rita Hayworth then,

'put the blame on Mame' !

maybe swift/immediate responses leave less room for confusion - there is more of a feeling of contact, albeit remote

I would be swifter if, for some reason, I didn't keep being logged off and showing as a guest, apart from reading through the other threads and going for a cup of coffee etc.

It's all those old threads again;

the Classicist spends time reading and poring over them, or pouring (coffee) over them at a certain time of life

the Romantic simply discards old threads, and buys some new ones;

from the Olde Curiosity Shoppe

Quite lost the thread in these very deep word woods or wood words ... have you any idea what letter we are on ? We might get into hot water for losing the plot ..! It could be G, but then after G, you said Hi, so that could be an H, in which case it could be I, but frankly

I dunno; but it's been great fun !!
