oh, ok, in cas this is a repetition, here is another:

Bast : I hazily recall, a name to drive demons x Whilst retaining of course, a totally loving disposition 'cos even demons are God's creatures and can be best loved into collegiality ! : Love is the Only Way

What a great idea Paul to get this running again.

Courtesy of the Dictionary of Metaphysical Healthcare, we have-

curanderismo (curanderismo healing system): Mexican-American "healing" tradition. It encompasses acupuncture and homeopathy. Its theory posits natural and supernatural sources of illness; alleged supernatural sources include evil spirits and brujos (practitioners of antisocial magic). The word curanderismo derives from the Spanish verb curar, which means "to treat," "to cure," or "to heal."

D ... have we had divine ... ? Must have .... Daemon ...? let's not go there ...

D could be for Difficulty - the illusion we encounter when seeking to move out of illusion ...

I need to sign off there for today ... good weekend all ... x

Ha! Good one! Forgetting ..... love that!

on we go to G-

Gnosis: The "philosophy of the universe," as old as the world, according to the Gnostic Association of Anthropology and Scientific Studies (AGEACAC), a bilingual (Spanish/English) organization whose National Center is in Elmhurst, New York. AGEACAC holds that humans cannot develop their faculties if they lose "sexual energy" in any way (e.g., masturbation), that religious principles are eternal and universal truths, that there are no false religions, and that "Cosmic Religion" vibrates in every atom. Gnosis supposedly permits the "harmonious" development of "infinite human possibilities."

to which I respond- hmmmm

[Dear Lori, just off thread for a moment, in Joseph Campbell's The Mythic Image, he has a small section on a shamanic practice in a South American tribe, where the young identified as being shaman, go through some enforced repeated masturbation process, along with other austerities, to debilitate them sufficiently as to become 'jaguars' fit to mate with the Divine spirit - complex stuff, but an interesting divergence from the tradition you cite ].

I ... could be just that I, as in I AM That, a sacred identifier, and in Gurdjieff's, 'Life is only real then when, I am'

"to which I respond hmmmmmm" was secretly and humorously meant to be the representation for "H"...meaning to ponder, question. I live in a happy place in my head! However, Jiller's Harmony is perfect. In fact I sense harmony emanating from Jill because of her inner strength despite her obstacles. You rock, lady! anyway...(also please note that the endearing nicknames I often refer to Jill as are the same as I refer to my daughter, Jill)

Based on the definition I provided of Gnosis and your further explanation Paul, I come to the conclusion without further exploration that being fit to mate with the Divine Spirit does indeed require the recognition of what masturbation can symbolize- primal power and strength, and a "letting go"..hence as well the experience one must have with the feeling of orgasm, if indeed that is the end result of said masturbation!

Ok...on to J! Next?

(Lori - ignoring the temptation to continue the 'm' dialogue with a couple of playfully rude 'j's' though the synchronicity is funny !!):

Back to thread:

J: (not sure if spelt correctly -) Jallaludin, the middle name of Rumi, great Sufi mystical poet .... and to keep the balls in the air ...
Jonah .. very short prophetic book of Old Testament about being swallowed by a whale, hence, the dark night Journey, and the sense of someone being a 'Jonah' or - a Jinx - a bringer of bad luck ... : Though I feel seriously, that for the true metaphysican, there is nothing such as good, or bad luck; Lady Luck (so-called), brings us what we need to be transformed to the true Self ! ... inded in the biblical story, Jonah is reproved by God for being too negative !

Namaste

Oops; diligently checking back, I see that Omjah posted 'I' once before (sorry for plagiarsim!); so I felt respectfully beholden to seek another I ...

Incarnation - as in our incarnation in our human identities as steps towards our eternal completenes and Oneness: wholeness=holiness ! In Jungian psychology this is also translated/interpreted as, the 'integration of the unconsious'.

.. aah dear MollyB (& January is her/his month ! ...) ... thank you for giving me K, I had wanted K, but now the moment is upon me, I, forshame, have no idea what was the profundity I had erstwhile, long-times past associated with K

(and not wishing to repeat past, lovely K's of spirit that might or might not have been used , yet can I even say them without risking censure, internally or externally)

.... there are some out there, but to save me raising myself from my sleeping day-bed, I may go - please - can you forgive me, all thou kindredst spirits out there (making up words now just for the beauty of word play - as in Jabberwocky [Ha, a retrospective J !!) and the lovely sing-song lilt of word-music that needs no music with it ... so may I be pleased to go with

K, as in Agent K, of Men in Black, senior agent, who makes it all happen ... the last defenders against the unknown of the Universe (until Dr Who appears)

Your very respectful Servant

ye ancient of days, blackwite barrow Knight from the seven realms of darkness, Eastern shores and mountains, the once and future pooh bee, to be, or Not

... Mab ... and the Mabinogian (think that is spelt correctly), is a very early collection of British, Welsh, and Irish Folk Tales where King Arthur (again, I think, from memory - could be open to correction) and others such make their first appearance ...

I shall take that in the best possible way, Cara ... not an Ouch ... since we seem to be on good terms .. but sorry if I sounded like I was trying to be too clever ... so then how's about

Quest -

upon which, making a presumption, i guess, we are all engaged ... the Quest is the tradiitonal form of putting the spiritual story into both an everyday yet also a mythic context ... the Quest for the Grail, the Quest for our inner unity, which paradoxically, we already have, the quest for the Philosopher's Stone, aka our Soul, the secret treasure in the cave guarded by the dragon that must be loved not slain, becauase it represents the wisdom of our unconscious .. (oops, am I doing it again?!) xx

ps, best blessings with the puer eternus - the innocent child, who also represents our inner child, yearning to grow into the Light ..

There is a great poem by A E Housman that goes,

WITH rue my heart is laden
For golden friends I had,
For many a rose-lipt maiden
And many a lightfoot lad.

By brooks too broad for leaping
The lightfoot boys are laid;
The rose-lipt girls are sleeping
In fields where roses fade.

Thanks for reassurances ...

... our children are always our children .. (mine are grown up now also)

Marvellous sentences on parenting and children in Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet - something about them being bows from our arrows ...yet then having to fly free, or some such, cannot recall exactly ..
