Maybe we will all just step into an alternate reality, cause I don't want to be here if it's going to be all polluted and stuff like that, or if there is mass destruction from wars, I don't want to be here to clean up the mess of all the ruins and broken buildings and cars and such. I wouldn't want to have to live among the garbage of those that made wars and such, or the industrial wastes. I'm kinda hoping that we just get a nice virgin Earth to work with, or at least one that hasn't been reduced to a pile of ruins that we all have to clean up! It seems to me that the earth is going to go in two different directions at that point, one direction will be the Mad Max kind of world where lawlessness and living among a ruined civilization will be the flavor, and another direction where there will be a clean and brand new start, even if the buildings are all still here and such. Anybody have any ideas on that? Maybe it is one of those points in Earth's journey through time where a couple different probable futures are created.

I have always felt that there is nothing to worry about with the endtimes. Everything will be taken care of, you will be in the right place at the right time, and really, none of us have any idea what is going to happen. We all know something will happen, since the mass consciousness of humanity has projected so intensely that something is going to happen, but what it will be is still up in the air. All we need to know is that we cannot be harmed by any experience, not even death, since we are Eternal Consciousness that never dies, never can be harmed, and doesn't even have to learn anything. It's one desire is to explore itself and whether or not the outcome of any particular civilization is positive or negative is irrelevant, it just wants to have experiences. Civilizations, even universes, come and go, and yet Eternal Consciousness remains. The whole universe is destined for a terrible end, actually. Eventually every star will burn out, every planet will die, and the whole thing might collapse into a black hole, or maybe even nothingness. Just as it appeared when Godself imagined it, a universe can also disappear when the imagination is finished with that avenue and there is nothing left to imagine because it has all been done (if that's possible!) If another universe is needed, then one will be imagined into being. It will simply appear.
So when looking at the fate of the Earth, we can all relax our minds. There is nothing to worry about. It doesn't matter if a Utopian reality is the result, nor does it matter if a Mad Max world is the result, it is all a grand adventure to the Eternal Self. It wants to experience the Mad Max world too, not just Utopian realities, for it is all just dreams and imaginings and it knows that it cannot be harmed by them.
What is really important right now is to learn how to be truly present and hold more and more consciousness in the human condition. The point is to evolve the human species (which is not who you are, by the way, it is just something you are participating in). The purpose for everyone is the same, to wake up while still dreaming a human lifetime. Everything else is a distraction, albeit some may be quite pleasant parts of the dream. The thing to remember is that it is all about how lucidly we can dream our lives. The enditmes will then just be another grand adventure, and we will not feel threatened by them because we know we have eternal life, and that a human lifetime is simply an imagining that appears and disappears in the arena of consciousness that we really are. It is but a blink of any eye compared to eternity. If we suffer for a day, a year, even a lifetime, it is no big deal for eternal self because it lives through everything without harm. It is not afraid to experience dark dreams, even the death of a civilization. It does not perceive these things as a failure versus success. It simply perceives it as an interesting dream.
Anyway, just some thoughts!
I'm not really sure that the endtimes are really going to happen. I kinda think that it is conjured and won't really be more than a blip in the stream. What might change is that people realize that we have to take care of the earth, that we have to share the wealth, be nicer to each other and "grow up" as a species in order to survive. Otherwise we just won't survive. I don't personally think there is any spiritual force that's going to save us, and there aren't going to be those spaceships that come down to the rescue that some people are waiting for. I believe it is going to naturally come from within on a practical level, rather than spiritual, that we have to change our ways. Whether this happens around 2012 has yet to be seen. Could be generations, although I don't think the earth will put up with a whole lot more pollution beyond this.
the earth still has alot of virgin in her, she'll be fine for aeons still. changes that are destructive to us are still productive for many other things. its going to take much ,much more than the negativities of people to kill a planet, we will kill ourselves way before that will ever happen. but life will always go on... if there is a problem that can be solved, then dont worry about it, and if you come across a problem that can't be solved, then why bother worrying?
Good advice, guys! There's the phrase, "Nature bats last", meaning Mother Earth will kill us long before we kill Her. It's interesting to think and talk about times changing, but I agree in that we have to take responsibility for our actions now, and can't look to an outside source to "save" us without us doing our part and putting forth proper effort.
How can what has no beginning, no end, that which is everything and everyone, the Alpha, the Omega, the First, the Last, the Apparent, the Hidden has end? We are probably getting things all wrong or that we are lending too much attention to those set of reactionary group of people who have made it their lot to turn chills running down in everyone’s spines. I won’t be surprised if by now a sort of ‘protective kit' for the end time effect is on sale already.
People naturally fear the unknown. Death and Judgment are the greatest unknown phenomena believed heavily to be awaiting the world. Perhaps it is on the basis of our fear that we try to regulate the patterns of our lives, to suit deeds deemed to be good, deeds which at the end will take us to Paradise. And so also to shun those deeds deemed to be bad, deeds that will make us denizens of hell. Indeed, Paradise and Hell are two great events awaited by virtually all believers of the teachings of the paths. The third, being the imminent, Judgment Day, where it is assumed that God will sit on His Throne of Glory to deliver judgment. To those that followed his voice will be everlasting life in Paradise. And to those that condemned themselves will be everlasting tenure in Hell. Probably what people want to see in the whole idea of the so-called end time, judgment day or whatever name it might be called in the future is fulfillment of what their religious Books or research materials had gathered about the issue at hand.
Perhaps this has been what people were looking for during or after the occurrence of major disasters. People want to see the end of the world. Where the description does not perfectly fit their scriptures they begin to look beyond and in the process begin to pick faults in the wreck and rubbles of the structures brought down by the disaster, proving perhaps literally, since physically nothing had happened as was envisaged, that a great sign of the imminent end had occurred. The irony of the whole scenario is such that while the synchronized part of the human mind is keen for the actualization of the 'script play of Judgment', God is probably judging every second of our lives. Perhaps every ticking second goes with a sentence to hell or the reward of paradise. Probably it was to justify this point that Jesus, when queried in the Bible about Judgment Day, says: “The Judgment Day is here!” In the Qur’an God says to Muhammad: “If they ask you concerning Judgment Day say its knowledge is with your Lord, in Book.”
It could be that while humanity is becoming more and more anxious for the end of the world to come in fulfillment of the teachings of their Books, such actualization was not meant to spill outside of the literal context of those great Books. We are being afraid of something that we’ve since been in. Probably, reality is that every day is end time, the world has since stopped, and we are being judged and are in our paradise and hell.

Actually, scientists say that we can all be taken out by a solar plasma cloud which would fry everything, something no can stop or change, and there are some that have happened but they weren't on a course for earth. These plasma clouds split off fromthe sun and shoot out into the solar system once in a while, soooo, since life is precious and it could end at any moment, enjoy it as if every day is your last and live in gratitude! We do indeed make our own heaven and hell right in our own perspective of things on Earth.
Exactly Christine, "We do indeed make our own heaven and hell right in our own perspective of things on Earth," perhaps all because of our esteemed position of being 'co-creators' in the act of life. But it will suffice us to remember that the two 'Chief-Creators' and probably those responsible for the contrasting moods of pain and bliss in the 'two houses' are with us in our game! So probably what we see as our own heaven and hell are not entirely ours after all and whichever side we fall in the end is all part of our 'unending trial'.

You were saying, at the beginning of this thread: ‘Maybe we will all just step into an alternate reality, cause I don't want to be here if it's going to be all polluted and stuff like that, or if there is mass destruction from wars, I don't want to be here to clean up the mess of all the ruins and broken buildings and cars and such. I wouldn't want to have to live among the garbage of those that made wars and such, or the industrial wastes.’ Sorry to tell you, but I do not feel that it’s not going to be as simple as that, Zara. The following is the way I understand:
(deleted because it was a very long article excerpt from a website, conversation only please, no html code, feel free to recap the concept you would like to put here in a paragraph or so, thanx! UMS staff)
I don't think that we should worry about the end of time we maybe should be looking forward to a time were time is not what we are entrapped in, and certainly the end of time for each individual is always getting closer and closer every day.

An interesting thread that I never looked at.....end times?
Well, yes, the Earth will end at some point.......when our star goes to its super nova stage and then starts it's decline into dwarf, maybe to black hole if it can gather enough material and energy...which it probably will, as we have the gigantic gas-bag planets in this particular solar system.
The end of homo-sapiensa? Yes, we will be gone!
The end of US?
No, I don't think so, as this is why we are on this very site. To discover who and what we really are.

I actually think there are many earths to choose from as our Spiritual Vacation happens. If you don't like what this EARTH is going through, then pick a different vacation package, with a different Earth. LOL I really do think it's that simple.
We chose this experience, like a rollar coaster, for the RIDE. Enjoy it.
