Dreams have always fascinated me. I would love to start a group that does dream interpretation. Anyone interested?
Dreams had always puzzled me. I am known for my dreams. I sure would like to know how to interpret them.
sometimes they are so off the wall ;especially, when am dreaming of one person but they are actually two people in one. this has been happening alot lateley. more like dual people or personalities that are actually one.
Hi ekhanania,
A couple things come to mind.
One person told me once that every character in a dream was an aspect of ourself or represented something in our inner world.
Another thought is the implications of quantum metaphysics. Like maybe there isn't just one Zy Danielson (me) ... but an infinite number of us, each on a separate lightpath or journey in a different quantum possibility. If so, then in a dream if you see "two people in one" (or more) maybe you are seeing different quantum possibilities of the same "person" or form!
yes, exactly that is what i was thinking too is a parallel universe. for example in one dream i was with jerry sienfield (the comedian) but at the same time he was gregg braden the author. i was telling jerry seinfeld how i appreciated his books but at the same time he was gregg braden. it is a strange dream.
Sometimes I find that when someone turns into someone else, it might have to do a past life. I have had a few of those kinds of dreams and awake realizing that this was a past life memory, well, maybe, and perhaps dreams are the way some of these past life memories reach us! This seems to be true especially when clothing worn in certain cultures is in the dream.
I had a dream the other night that I was a woman who had somehow come into rulership and I didn't really have any idea what to do with an approaching army to invade my country. I was getting ready to send out my camels with some very untrained guys (not that it seemed very formidable! It was actually quite silly!) And Hercules from the famous TV show came to me and told me that he had a better solution rather than go to war. He helped me work out a deal where we paid them some gold, made a trade treaty to accept their goods and share ours, since we were a wealthy country, and we averted war. All our camels were safe and sound, and the citizens loved me because their young men didn't have to die and everyone was happy.
I was so appreciative to Hercules and wanted to kiss him. As I kissed him he turned into my husband that I am with now in this lifetime. I am wondering if my husband might have been in this role in my past lifetime, and might have been an advisor to me at a time in history when this might have been an issue. There did occasionally seem to be women who found themselves in positions of power but were not trained in warfare strategies, and had to rely on their advisers who had some expereince.
When I told my husband about the dream, he thought it was great that I put him in Hercules' body, the famous good looking TV star! I told my husband he better get into the weight room and get to work! Ha!

Aah, yes! Dreams, they are so fun! My favorite activity! Sometimes I wish I could stay in the dreams longer than 8 hours per day, they can be so freeing. And of course they are so educational about who we are underneath all this human identity thing, eh?
Teresa, I like your dream. I also had a dream where i was dating Brat Pitt but i was actually jennifer anistat. Oh it was a nice dream. i really enjoyed being with Brat. we both looked good together and the relationship was in full harmoney. In another dream I was invited to Tom Cruise's party and i was busy thinking what to buy him for a gift. This dream was before he comes on the news with his new flame. go figure i guess in my dreams am a hollywood figure.
I wonder what triggers dreams like these? dreams are fun.
yes i am interested
I had a dream that I knew madonna well, we were girlfriends, and I had another friend who had always wanted to meet her, so i introduced her to madonna. The three of us took a walk in the countryside and were playing like little girls in the warm sunny countryside, it all felt really ordinary. It seemed like I knew madonna well and she wasn't as hard-edged as she is in this lifetime. When I woke up I felt like it might have been that we knew eachother in a totally different kind of lifetime, in different identities, or somehting, we might have been neighborhood children in a countryside somewhere, the house that we were in for a while looking at books was an old style antiquish stone house, and then when we were in the countryside it was rolling hills, seemed very English...
I think sometimes dreams with famous poeple might be a past life memory with them when we knew them in different lifetimes, but the conscious mind gets the details mixed up by putting their present day image on them instead of their old image that we knew them as in the past. I think what is happening in the dream is what is most important as to a clue about a past life event. I don't know. It could just be that we have wishful thinking that we knew these people, but if you think about all the famous poepel out there and that we all intermingle in various lifetimes together, we were bound to come across one or two of them, maybe even four or five in a past lifetime. We would surely have met a few of them, if you think about how many peopel we have met in past lives, even if only for brief moments as aquaintances. I think dreams about famous poeple could mean that they are someone we met somewhere among the millions we have intermingled with in our multitudes of lifetimes. If we think about how many people we meet, even as aquainances, in one lifetime, and then multiply that by thousands of lifetimes, that's a lot of poeple.
Hi jaina,
So you too had a similar dream like I did. Association with a public figure. It is very interesting and your ascription of the meaning of the dream is what I concluded too. very interesting.
I had a dream that Tom Cruise was my husband and that we lived in a village together and were herbal healers that people came to visit from far away! I didn't think of it as a past life memory, I just thought is was a fantasy, but now you have me thinking, was it a past life memory???? Ha! He doesn't strike me as the herbal healer type, but one never knows!

Dreams are one of the only ways that our subconscious minds have for communicating with the conscious mind, unless our psychic faculties are further developed and we have learned to trust our intuition. It makes total sense that our past life memories would be communicated through dreams. I have always thought that to be the case, and there seems to be some sort of "knowing" when it is a past life memory or just a fantasy. Even fantasies might have some reality, even if only in a parallel version of this reality, for there are thousands of versions of any one person's life. Anywhere you made a choice in life, for instance, whether to go to college or this or that, is a point in your life where one version of you went off and did the other path while "you" took this path.
hi, has anyone heard anything like this. Twice i was having a regular dream, (I can't even remember the dream now) but in the middle of the dream a window opened up and in the window the was light and darkness and it seemed like the darkness was colsing in on the light and in a split second the light exploded and the darkness was gone and i felt expanded for a moment. then the dream started again like nothing happened,It has happened twice this past couple of years. anyone know what thats about?

It could mean victory or reassurance in the ensuing battle between darkness and light
Dreams (sleeping and lucid) have been profound experiences for me... I'm of the opinion that people in my sleeping dreams represent aspects of myself working out their juxtapositions via these strange theatrical productions, lol... lucid dreams have been more like communications from spirit about my path direction, signs i should look for... a really nice lucid dream I had was one where I was looking at a photo of Mother Teresa's face... I watched it slowly morph into a photo of Crazy Horse's face... after 'waking', and upon contemplation, it really brought my attention to how Compassion is a fierce unconquerable strength & how the path of the Heart takes tremendous courage & will... I watched the movie about Mother Teresa (and although it wasn't a great movie) I thought her story was incredible. I had to giggle that she opened her mission in Calcutta in a former Kali temple - and was undaunted by the association with the Hindu destroyer Goddess, as well as the local adherents who opposed... I feel that she was definitely an instrument of Kali Ma... she was a woman who had rectified ego and lived to serve... perfect. I've wondered a few times if She and Crazy Horse are of the same essence...
I also used to live very close (15 miles or so) to where Crazy Horse was supposedly buried. The Lakota claim he was not buried there - wasn't actually buried at all but given traditional Lakota rites instead (not burial)... I definitely felt all kinds of things when I lived in that vicinity, had all kinds of lucid dreams about events that took place there - wounded kneee, etc. that were disturbing and revalatory at the same time...
I am posting on this old thread because I am currently working on a UMS course on dreams. I have noticed that I have been recalling my dreams less in the past month. I was wondering if anyone has tips on improving dream recall, or any other advice on dreams?

Hello Cause....we seem to have a way of meeting up on these forums.....but this time you are in an arena that I know more about than most people, and I DON'T say that for any personal aggrandizement, it is just that I have studied this for many, many years.
To quickly understand the perspectives of dreams in the current psychology, I suggest reading "Delusion and Dream" by Sigmund Freud; which contains the entire novelette "Gradiva" by Wilhelm Jensen. Or just read "Gradiva" and leave Freud alone. The protagonist, Norbert Hanold, experiences a series of dreams which lead to delusion, and then, to reality.
Second, and more important, I suggest reading "The Deptford Trilogy" by Robertson Davies, though if you want to skip to the significant part concerning dreams, it is the second volume, entitled "The Manticore".....the series is "The Fifth Business"; "The Manticore" and the final "The World of Wonders".
In the book, David Staunton has difficulty in remembering his dreams, and is haunted by the ones he has, up and until he works with the Jungian psychologist, Dr. Von Trollop(sp?) She, (Dr. von Trollop) says one of the most telling lines ever written, which is "dreams always say what they mean, we just don't understand the language they speak"......the essence of Carl Jung's psychology and philosophy. By the way, shortly after publishing his works on dreams, he also published "Psychology and Alchemey" which should be a "bible" for those who delve seriously into the practicality of metaphysics.
You like science, and I thought I would give you some, though "soft"; but just as pertinent as the hard science we spoke of.
Peace and Faith,
I had an occurrence at work where I saw a young man -about 17 years old -walking down the hall past me--as he passed I noticed he had his right hand and part of his arm amputated. I was rushed at work but in the passing I thought--such a cute kid --I wonder what happened to his arm. Later I saw the kid coming out of a patient room and was shocked to find that his hand and arm were intact! In my confusion I asked "why the blank am I seeing stuff like that?" Still, I was rushed and continued working without thinking much further about it.
The next morning as I was waking I was hearing the words "This world is on a warped grid". This was repeated several times until I said--ok I will remember it! I was confused and unsure if this was some kind of answer to the incident at work---and am still confused. Anyone have any ideas on this?
To remember dreams, I've found it most useful to get in the habit of asking myself right away when I wake up, "What did I just dream?" You can also exchange this question with a partner that you sleep with in order to help each other remember dreams better. I've also affirmed before I fall asleep that I'll remember my dreams.
Mugwort is an herb that can help to create vivid dreams that are easy to recall. For some people, it is really intense. For me, I have amazingly powerful healing dreams after drinking some mugwort tea....
Any other ideas from anyone else on how to recall or interpret dreams???

Hi all:
Ya know, I had a laugh (in a good way) reading this:
"Mugwort is an herb that can help to create vivid dreams that are easy to recall. For some people, it is really intense."
It was fun to read.
My anthropology classmates took field trips to Central and South America. They brought back "souvenirs" of their stay among indigenous native populations.
I don't know what wort it was, but it made dreams no longer dreams, but a reality that was beyond description. Multidimensional. Tactile. Exquisite!

Hey there , try me..ive been interpreting dreams for many years..would love to help you...
In my dream I'm being chased and running for my life.

I interpreted this and am curious to see what others think!

Could there be something in your waking life that you are trying to run away from, but cannot because you are meant to resolve the situation somehow? Are you by any chance trying to run away from yourself - your real self, that is - the most precious part of yourself?
I believe that in dreamtime we go to our true home, the world of spirit, to recover and be restored from the stresses and strains of our earthly existence. I also believe that our dreams are usually trying to give us some kind of a message and guidance. To me, nightmares and scary dreams are ways of our Highest Self helping us to release things from our subconscious which would be too scary to face otherwise. What do you think?

Yeah that's pretty good stuff, I imagine that really gets to the essence of it.
I used to, for a very long time, have nervousness spark up and arise around my solar plexus, if i was afraid I did something wrong , said something wrong, was nervous, was put on the spot, (or had an opportunity to in the future)etc. This feeling haunted me and every time it came up I would just feel as though it was the worst, it felt as though it plagued or contaminated me, I was afraid it would enter my conversations with friends, with family, teachers and make things very awkward because I would freeze.
So I figured I was running away from my shadow self which I have started to embrace more. But mainly I have been doing more healing work which has caused the very readily available nervous feelings to not come up so easily. It used to be there with a mere... thought.
So can this be interpret any further, is there anything to add to make things clearer?
