I had a Jo'rei (sp) last sunday.. AMAZING.. its white light healing for those who don't know. Anyway, one of the men there said I had something going on with my whole left side.. WHat does that mean? I said my left arm hurt from carrying clothes the day before in the store, but other than that I didn't know. Do you?

What does the left side of the body represent?

Thank you.

Judy

the Fates were part of both Norse and Greek mythology (pls correct me if I am wrong MollyB),

who, it was believed, controlled our lives; they spun threads on their looms and these threads were our destinies ...

.. I asked dear Kukla, because if you were left or right handed might have some effect on what left - and right - might mean to you !

Right is my receiving side.. If and when I recieve messages.. it's from my right.

But, that guy wouldn't know that, i dont think.. and he said it was my entire right side. it's just my right ear.. and i use my right and left hands to recieve and send energy out with crystals... right obviously to recieve.

I don't know, kukla....I was just throwing out something the left symbolizes.

And yes, dear Paul, the Fates are as you described. My signature is actually lyrics from a song I feel quite drawn to (as you can see in the music thread)! It's the first song I posted, and it has followed me for quite a number of years. I also put the video up on the metaphysical music and videos thread if you're interested in viewing it. The song is 'Sister Awake' by The Tea Party.

Personally, I love the idea of the Fates, or the Norns, or the Muse, who whomsoever might be seeking to guide & assist our lives ... goodness (a-British-ism), or as Thou sayest over there (Thou, is a closer form of saying you, than is you, as in Matin Buber's, I and Thou: ie, to incarnate the God that is within each of us, we must only permit to be, the Thou, the most intimate of ourselves, in open-ness to each other: hence, thus, we each both, cease to exist, but both and each, become one with the Godhead, which is the One Eternal, beyond Names, beyond God, beyond Fates [so how could they know, poor imaginal creatures, yet also, to be loved in their illusion] )

... need to insert some spaces here and, take a BREATH

goodness, back to line one (1), we need all the help we can get ... no more so than I, so ... forgotten now where I started ...

Ahh, dear Kukla, dear, please, in your vulnerable sensitive openness, : - = BE CAREFUL.

LOVE YOURSELF

BE SO FULL UP

WITH

THE LOVE OF YOURSELF

THAT NO-ONE CAN ENTER IN

EXCEPT THE DIVINE MAJESTY,

WHICH ACTUALLY IS

YOU______AND ONLY EVER, YOU___

kukla, what happened the last time you were on,and having problems at home etc.have you moved, etc,i did ask a while ago,but you were obviously in transit,i feel for you that something seems to be happening, and you seem to be doing and understanding your lessons, and all the terms used here, and in the student area, does it not go on to explain the rest i,e, if you are getting teachings through the post, telling you what you shuld do,etc, should it not also tell you how to understand the simpler of things,i fel the problem arises by lack of knowledge, true knowledge.my instinct tells me,you will be so all rightYou are an intelligent person, have had many problems, especialy with money etc,so go forward, and follow your instinct, don,t try anymore experimenting, whilst in a vulnerableposition,as stated you must know you are on here,in public, for all to see.

Your left side of the body is ran by your right side of your brain, which is the creative side. So maybe he meant your creative (artistic) intuition is clogged. That is your spiritual side, your metaphysical side. Our left brain is our logic, which governs our physical, numbers, problem solving and business side. This side represents the right side of the body physically, which is why most people are right handed. Occasionally the opposite is true.

I am also right handed, and your dominant side is supposed to be your healing hand, while your non-dominant hand is normally your receiving hand (to scan for problems). Kukla is backwards, which may be causing a blockage....  Or she was meant to be left handed.

PJ,

I'm really confused now. my openness and sensitivity? i am an empath.. is that what you are referring to? I'm so confused as to why that man told me i have issues going on with my right side of my body???

AM I to answer my own question with saying my right side is blocked from incoming messages? I need to unblock it somehow? then my next question is how do I unblock my right side?

I am right handed, but my mother is left handed. So I do some things right handed, but am quite handy also, with my left hand, so to speak.

Traditionally, the left hand was associated with 'negativity', thus, left handed people were often subject to criticism. And our Western writing is intrinsically, right handed ('cos otherwise, the page smudges). Now is that a rationalisation to move culture from the 'left handed' way; could be

'cos. culture as developed, has moved into right-sided thinking, the elevation of science and rationalism - 'masculine' in traditional terms;

as against

left-sided experiencing, ie, dreaming and intuition

the left brain/right brain discussion as, slightly obfuscated this discussion by locating it in the brain

it is about an experience of the world

This all goes really a long way back, but at its root, and not to go into all the associations and researches,

it is fundeamentally about the suppression of the

Feminine, in Western, devloped culture,

and the over-exertion of the Masculine.

These are the archetypal, symbolic elements, but everyone is an individual

and no-ne can read anything from one=self

into the experiences of another.

We are each of us unique &

Each totally, Potential

Kukla, you started off with saying problems with the left, you ended with problems with the right...

Is it Left or Right?

I would suggest going back to the gentleman who said it and asking for clarification.

Lori, That reminds me also of not only Kundalini awakening, but of pranayama too. Both classes are in UMS curriculum. Both taught some really good stuff.....Thank you for reminding me.

Pranayama talks about activating brain sides through, through breathing through the nose.
I know that many want the full spirit realm, but we could not function as human, with out these two sides of the brain. (at least until we graduate earth). LOL

WOW! I didn't read this until now!
I write with my left hand and tend to do most automatic things as a lefty, i.e. I keep the car keys in my left pocket, pick up a glass with my left hand, use chopstix with my left hand..etc.
And, Jilly, in base and soft ball I bat lefty, but pitch righty.
In martial arts I favor my right, as I think I have more power, and can do a mean roundhouse kick as long as I spin to the left but use my right leg. When I spin to the right and try to use my left leg, I usually fall.
When I cook I hold the knife in my right hand to chop, slice and dice, yet I toss and turn woks and pans with my left.
When I have to do precision work, I use my left hand.
I am dismal at doing things that require coordination with both hands, such as playing a guitar, drumming, playing video games, etc. I hate manual transmissions and always buy auto's, since I can't seem to shift exactly when I want to, which involves the left foot and right hand.
What do you make of this? Very curious!!!!!!!!!

Peace and love,

Ambidextrious.....

Meaning you learned to balance both sides. But, to learn which way your flow goes is to find your stronger hand vs your weaker hand. Weaker side is the finder, stronger side is the healer.

For one to say there is a problem with one side, I would have to think of either physical problem, or energy block.

I too, have things I can do with my left hand. I can shoot a whole game of pool, left handed, and win. I cannot write with my left hand, at all. LOL, it's horrible.

To think of Left hand being negative, is in my own opinion, a line of BS from those who where gullable enough to believe in the BS they were taught, by very frightened people in times of very little knowledge and education.  Since one cannot have  right, with out left, or even right with out wrong... both must exist. One is neither better or worse than the other.

Imagine just how gullable people used to be, compaired to now. Maybe some really had some good knowledge, that is cherrished, but others just had no spiritual bone in their body and feared EVERYTHING!

Know what I mean?

Funny conversation!!

I am extremely dominantly left handed, except for the mouse, I use my right paw. My son who is right handed had a stroke at the age of 12 on the left side of his brain causing a deficit on the right side of his body. He had to learn how to become left handed! When he was going through occupational and physical therapies we would do sort of solidarity and empathy therapy with him so we could associate with what he was going through, so we all walked around the house using our non dominant hand for a long time!!!!

He also couldn't even carry a tune in a bucket to save his own life, and post stroke now he is a producer of music and a composer on the keyboard. Amazing!!!!

Hello Lori ... re: your son, sounds a big journey he and you all took ... we don't know if he would have been musical before, but your story is suggestive of what has been said that, the left, intuitive and emotional side in him as been truly awakened, and found success in his music. Lovely story, thanks for sharing, as ever,

Left side is normally associated with logic and numbers, perhaps the more concetrated on that side, he understood more, due to being forced to use that side more. It truly is amazing how we are compensated when we lose something. What a blessing to have such an experience. Yet, I bet it was very scary during the process of all that.

Thank you very much for sharing indeed.

From Ken Wilber's 'Integral Psychology' (Shambhala Press, 1999; page 592):

"Many people are initially confused as to why and how interpretation is intrinsic to the universe .... all Right-Hand events - all sensorimotor objects and empirical processes and 'its' - can be seen with the senses or their extensions. They all have simple location; you can actually point to most of them (rocks, towns, trees, lakes, stars, roads, rivers...)

But Left-Hand, or interior events cannot be seen in that fashion. You cannot see love, envy, wonder, compassion, insight, intentionality, spiritual illumination, states of consciousness, value or meaning running around out there in the empirical world. Interior events are not seen in an exterior or objective manner, they are seen by introspection and interpretation "

Here is a MUST SEE video, about a Brain Scientist, who had a stroke. She describes it very well, she also talks about metaphysical realms - (Right side brain = spiritual, left side = non spiritual). Simply remarkable.

Well we have a mystery of interpretation here then, 'cos Wilber is very well researched, and he follows in the perennnial tradition - also, there are extensive references in this to Jung in his alchemical researches (see Volume 12 of his Collected Works), viz., left as symbolizing the unconscious - hence actually, our traditional, but wrong, antipathy towards -left-handedness, because of our fear of the unconscious: in the uk left-handed children were forced to write in a right-handed way, thus from the point of view of depth psychology, persecuting them ...

An extract, from:

http://www.allspirit.co.uk/ashtavakra.html

I am infinite like space, and the natural world is like a jar. To know this is knowledge, and then there is neither renunciation, acceptance, or cessation of it.

I am like the ocean, and the multiplicity of objects is comparable to a wave. To know this is knowledge, and then there is neither renunciation, acceptance or cessation of it.

I am like the mother of pearl, and the imagined world is like the silver. To know this is knowledge, and then there is neither renunciation, acceptance, or cessation of it.

Alternatively, I am in all beings, and all beings are in me. To know this is knowledge, and then there is neither renunciation, acceptance, or cessation of it.

Can anyone really define True Love?

Is there really such a phenomenon outside of primal breeding urges? Chemical responses that bring us together and then stop....where we find ourselves thrown into a state of "what the hell happened here? Who is this person? Why am I here?" Is there such a thing as a love that lasts forever? And if so, how so and why?

We are ever changing and Love is something shared by many for and with one another. So, is it then that important to secure the love of just one significant other "forever?"

Or is it more important to just Love and allow Love forever?

These are all the questions I must answer before I get to the middle of my Tootsie Pop. And I'm not sure how many licks that will take, so if anyone has the answers...quickly...please answer quickly.

Love and Peace...

.. Hmmm... did I say that ? Are you sure ? ....

I know I said,

Your heart will be your best guide....

and elsewhere I quoted the Fox in the Little Prince, saying the heart sees what cannot be seen with the eyes, or something like that ... defining True Love would take a little longer .. I do feel that loves loves for other than its own sake, and wants the best for the loved one, even if that means permitting it the freedom not to be loved in return .. as for the rest ...
