I see you all here so often and even sometimes at the same time. I have news that eventually we will have a 'chat-room' feature. That should be fun..and challenging! It may be several months before this happens but it is in the works!

Hi all: I am associated with an institution of a university system. My school is now primarily "online" worldwide. We have found that "chat" is integrel to the learning process. Students form groups and "conference" on topics and assignments. Students form sub groups and delve into things of interest for further exchange of ideas. I think that UMS, being in a "niche" competitive market, would not only enhance the mission that it has, but set itself above those that choose to compete, if chat were initiated. It is one thing to send email lessons and tapes and cassettes; but it is entirely another learning experience to be able to "talk" real time with fellow students and faculty. I truly do not know how UMS funds itself, if it is by tuition than, that, in and of itself, is a miracle that it survives. Education in any market nowadays is highly competitive. I do believe, though, that chat would be an added plus, and draw more undecided people to enroll as students. As a final thought, let me say that when (and notice I don't say if) I win millions of dollars in a lottery, it is my wish that the types of things that are taught at UMS continue to be taught......and, therefore, UMS would never need worry that these subjects would not be, as UMS would receive a handsome thank you from me.
Peace and Love to you all, Marty and his serious cats, Luckylee, Poppyhead and the blind SissyGirl

Hi all in this thread: I think it very important that students and non students have access to chat. What better selling point for enrolling as a student? If you have someone who is "inclined" to enroll and is included immediately, then the decision is made by virtue!
